RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

With Dunn I just think he has to be patient. Rod is an almost identical back as Dunn and will likely split the carries with EzE this season. Then you would have to imagine Dontre and Samuel will be getting a few touches as well. Barring injury (fingers crossed), I don't see Bri'onte getting the ball much this season. However, I do think after Smith leaves this year there is going to be more than enough opportunity for Dunn.
Rod was barely involved last year as the season progressed and is working through some off field issues. There's no reason to assume he will keep Dunn at bay.

I understand that and anything can happen but between practice reports and union's reports in the Mill, it sounds like Rod has a sizeable lead on Dunn if he takes care of everything (sounds like his absence is precautionary to make sure his grades are up during a heavy workload...doesn't sound like he is in danger of failing). Still a lot of time before opening week though.

As for last season, I think his lack of involvement had less to do with Rod than it did Hyde being the best back in America that refused to come off the field.

Dunn will be a nice compliment to the offense as he does have good size and power that secondary folks don't want to tackle with a full head of steam. I'm pulling for both Dunn and Ball to break a run or two early in the year and build their confidence as they head into conference play. Plus it's nice to have a stable of runners.

Two pair and spare...

Always like to see veterans put it together the longer they're with the program. I wished the same for Rod Smith last year, but it never materialized. Hopefully Dunn and Ball can see some time as Samuel gets more reps at Hback and Weber learns the college game better.

Woody's actual saying goes "a pair and a spare," not two pairs...

Given the stable, maybe "two pair" is accurate. If not now, soon. :sneaky:
with the number of people that can carry the ball in this offense, I doubt a spare gets many carries depending on health, unless there are a lot of blowouts. We certainly are able to use 2 pairs, but the QB, HB, select WRs AND the RB gets carries in this offense. So versatile.
