QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

How do you feel overall about Pryor's time at tOSU? Personally, I feel a little disappointed overall, given how amazing his athletic gifts are. He was certainly an outstanding player, but I feel like he coasted on his talents and gifts too much. I also would have liked to see him sit more during his freshman year to develop more.

In the end though, was he worth it? I remember following his recruiting back in '08, and guys who are ***** recruits in both football and basketball are quite rare. He did some amazing things on the field...but his legacy will not be a good one I feel. He almost became too big for JT and the program.

Personally, I hope things work out for him. If Cam Newton and Tim Tebow are NFL Prospects, Pryor should be too. In the end, Pryor is a victim of the awful process that is the current state of the NCAA.
Terrelle is a physically gifted football player, but his mindset - both on and off the field - is more akin to that of a basketball player. Ultimately, that will hinder his NFL career more than any alleged lack of football skills.

With regard to the "awful process that is the current state of the NCAA" ... some people are victimized by the awful process, while others are perfect examples of why the awful process was enacted in the first place. It's kind of like speeding on the highway - even though it is illegal, most people think that it's okay to go 74 mph in a 70 mph zone, but nobody thinks that it's acceptable to go 110....

I find it difficult for TP to get anywhere in the NFL because a team will be much less interested in him after him showing his character in this way.

Tats for paraphernalia is a joke. Him allegedly signing items for money is a joke too. Yes, those are illegal activities, but the NCAA is a sham.

Pryor is only 21-22...hes still a very young man and to crucify him for making a few questionable decisions is ridiculous. When you think about the recruiting process for these **** and ***** star guys, it is impossible for these guys not to get egos or inflated thoughts about themselves. To me, hes a victim of the crazy recruiting process, and the joke that is the NCAA.

Terrelle Pryor the football player did everything I wanted from him when he signed that LOI... except bring home a National Championship...
.

Well said.

I'm so traumatized that I have erased alot of my memory and only remember Joe Germain as our last quarterback

LoL

Could you explain what you mean more?

Does anyone know why he chose football over basketball?

The NFL ignores character for talent all the time. The bigger issue for TP will be that he's nowhere near ready to play QB at that level and whether he can handle the possibility that he never will be, and may have to play a different position.

Exactly. Look how many chances Lawrence Phillips and Cecil Collins and asshats like that got. Make no mistake about it, TP will get his shot.

By leaving, Pryor could help to save Ohio State from sins of Tressel era

If Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith is smart and clings to any shred of hope for his continued employment in Columbus, he has quietly convinced boosters to buy Pryor's silence. That's perfectly legal now, and if we learned anything from Reggie Bush, it's that the cheapskate could have kept USC off the NCAA chopping block had he paid a measly $300,000 to a couple of wannabe agents to keep their mouths shut. Pryor doesn't have to play by the NCAA's rules anymore. Ohio State officials should do everything within their power to keep him happy. They should be good at that; it sounds as if that's how they got in this mess in the first place.

Yea, that's a great, moral way to extricate ourselves from this mess and clean things up: buying people's silence. If that's the kind of leadership we have, I'd just prefer they shut the whole university down.

Pryor is a legal adult and must be held accountable for his actions. Whether or not you agree with the NCAA rules, they are the rules and Pryor knowingly broke them.

WTH? TP isnt some sort of thug. He took money when it was given to him, he's not about to go commit a murder or something
That's a good point that people should bear in mind... yeah, Pryor appears to have been about Terrelle Pryor and not Ohio State or even Jim Tressel, but he didn't assault women, kill anyone (like everyone else does, :p) and so on. He merely tried to make money of his own name.... True, you can't do that under the rules but it's hardly the same as being a criminal.

Nobody is saying he's going to commit murder. I reread my post and checked. He has however shown himself to have terrible judgement and lack of maturity off the field and what is increasingly being shown as an overwhelming concern for all things TP.

That's not a good combination to get thrown into the mix with lots of money, NFL groupies and a large city. Perhaps he'll do a lot of maturing and reflect on what's just gone down over the next few months. That would be the best thing for him. We'll see.

BTW, I am probably in a minority in that I don't blame TP for what happened to Tressel. I blame Tressel for what happened to Tressel. I simply see TP as a kid who took advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves to him. Had he had a firmer hand and shorter leash from the coaching staff, compliance department and university, things might have turned out better.

Next all we would need is a press conference with him declaring that he is taking his talents to South Beach, and the transformation would be complete!
