QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

That's a good point that people should bear in mind... yeah, Pryor appears to have been about Terrelle Pryor and not Ohio State or even Jim Tressel, but he didn't assault women, kill anyone (like everyone else does, :p) and so on. He merely tried to make money of his own name.... True, you can't do that under the rules but it's hardly the same as being a criminal.

To the detriment of The Ohio State University....he did not give a shit...come back in four years when we are 3 and 8 and tell me it was worth it...this has never been a conversation about morality or crime in my mind it is about our university and our program and he and the enablers around him decided he was more important than....Archie, Hop-a-long, Eddie, Spiels, Pace, Harley and you and I and Grandpa and the Kid with cancer that dons his number 2 jersey.....

Nobody is saying he's going to commit murder. I reread my post and checked. He has however shown himself to have terrible judgement and lack of maturity off the field and what is increasingly being shown as an overwhelming concern for all things TP.

That's not a good combination to get thrown into the mix with lots of money, NFL groupies and a large city. Perhaps he'll do a lot of maturing and reflect on what's just gone down over the next few months. That would be the best thing for him. We'll see.

BTW, I am probably in a minority in that I don't blame TP for what happened to Tressel. I blame Tressel for what happened to Tressel. I simply see TP as a kid who took advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves to him. Had he had a firmer hand and shorter leash from the coaching staff, compliance department and university, things might have turned out better.

I agree fully that Tressel is to blame for what happened to Tressel. If you look at the way a lot of guys, apparently, behaved and were allowed to behave, the word enabler seems to creep up somewhere.

that'll be good for the ol APR :2004:

should :2004: be :2011: or :pryor: instead?

and apparently :2004::2004: :2004: isn't working anymore.

If true, nice to see he's channeling his inner Reggie Germany...crickey I thought that was as low as we were going to get (the state of the team, not just him), and we've waved in passing on the way down the mineshaft.
