QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

The one thing i had a problem with for Braxton last night, only one, was the 4th down play at mid-field. They loaded 8 guys in the box close to the line, and we still went Hyde up the middle. He had no shot at that. Should have seen the defense and changed the play. He could have faked it to Hyde and made it in a foot race to the perimeter or gotten a receiver in motion to the other side. Either one of those had a much better shot at it. Hyde also could have seen that and bounced it outside. That is the next level of development. Looking at it from my 3000 ft level, we all could see before the ball was snapped that there was virtually no chance of getting that. One play, and the only time I was truly disappointed in the offense (beside being irritated at the tresselball at the end, but that's Urban's decision) so not bad if you think about it.

Really excited to see us run the ball this weekend. I think we'll see the full arsenal of our running attack and if Braxton is able to make the correct reads on the inverted veer, speed option, option read, and run/pass options, Northwestern will be in for a world of hurt. Hyde up the middle, Hall off tackle, Wilson on the edge, deep ball over the top - repeat.

That almost looks like the play calling in four separate drives. If I ever see us mix up all four of those kind of plays every drive, we'll be watching the Buckeyes in a National Championship game.

Probably a good decision, let's take a sure win by playing conservatively (and not gamble on committing a turnover and giving Wisky a chance to win by playing a high risk/quick score offense).

I will say that Urban must be making some good decisions, he is now 17-0 at Ohio State.

Yep, definitely a day to use our run packages. How much we run will, of course, depend on the amount of wind and rain that occurs during the game. As I mentioned earlier I foresee a good amount of Hyde, along with Braxton, toting the ball much of the day with sprinkles of Hall thrown in. If the Offense has the wind to it's back I see some play action passes that will be killer plays. Maybe some safer roll out option plays where Braxton can throw it to a TE or Wilson / Hall in the flat or tuck it under and run.

GO BUCKS!!
Go Navy!
