QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)
Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron isn't ruling out using Smith at a position other than quarterback.
Just when I thought firing the Ravens got rid of the idiots on their coaching staff when they let Billick go...

Hey guys, let's move this QB who won the Heisman and was going to be our #1 guy coming into the season to a different position. That'll be really good for his career!

Fucking idiots. I hope Troy isn't a team player in this situation. I know he will be, though.

[censored]ing idiots. I hope Troy isn't a team player in this situation. I know he will be, though.

I doubt he will take kindly to this situation. Troy needs to take a me first mentality, and look to be traded. I dislike Flacco, and still think he wont compare to Troy. Try telling that to any Flacco fanboys. Granted i am a Troy fanboy.

Troy you're a leader. Play QB and lead a team.

Baltimore Ravens Message Board. The Sanctuary @ ExtremeRavens.com

Dude, that looks like a tough fight over there. Those jokers are probably still so pissed about the Boller thing that they have to drink the Flacco koolaid. You'd think they'd have learned by now, but...

Flacco will start for Ravens; Smith to work as backup

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore coach John Harbaugh has named rookie Joe Flacco the Ravens' starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
The announcement came as former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith, who had been expected to compete for the starting job, finally returned from a severe tonsil infection that had sidelined him since training camp.

Whether Smith would again compete for the starting job once he returned had been an open question. But Harbaugh said Smith will be the third quarterback behind backup Todd Bouman this week against the Indianapolis Colts, and will eventually compete with Bouman for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart.

"Troy is working full-speed ahead as a healthy quarterback this week really for the first time, which is exciting and great news for us," Harbaugh said.

"[Third-string] will be his role this year, possibly in a role where he can contribute playing quarterback for us down the road," Harbaugh added. "That all remains to be seen by game play and what not, and that's where we're at."

I wouldn't ever advocate for Troy to give up on the NFL, but I really hope that when he thinks it's time to leave that sorry excuse for a league, he comes back and contributes at tOSU. I would love to see him one day take over for Coach Daniels.

Best of luck Troy.
