When you’re willing to take transfers in like Fields I think you have to live with things like this happening. Not logical to celebrate Fields and then put down this kid.

No he didn't handle this as well as he could've...The bravado is 95% of the reason people got on Tate in the first place. This is more of a Joe Burrow situation in my eyes. Baldwin stayed, competed, probably saw the writing on the wall, and believed he was good enough to start. No complaints from me. Absolutely sucks for depth but Baldwin handled this as well as you could. Wish him nothing but the best.
This makes no sense. No he didn't handle this as well as he could've...
He thought maybe he could beat Fields and when he realized he couldn't he left. Handling it well would've been leaving in the winter giving us time to get someone.
Sure he did what's best for him but handling it well does what's best for both. He put OSU in a very difficult spot and a spot I don't think would've been necessary.
Oh well though... name of the game now.
Why would he leave if he didn't know if he'd be able to beat out Fields? Assuming he is actually homesick, then sure. Leaving right after the spring game though tells me he isn't confident that he'll be the starter.Simple.
Baldwin didn't handle this well. When he lost the competiton he left. Now we are hurting.
Handling it well would've been giving us an opportunity to recruit someone.
B-but what about The Brotherhood?! And the purity of the game?! Don't forget amateurism! This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. The transfer portal has changed the CFB climate. The same portal that had OSU fans salivating over Fields , now are pissed because of lost depth from Martell and Baldwin. Kids are no longer going to sit for their entire careers if they know they can leave and play somewhere else. The kids don't owe it to the school to leave when it helps the school, but leave when it benefits themselves . This is what frustrates me so much with fans of collegiate sports. They hold kids to a higher standard than the adults who coach them. OSU just essentially stole 2 coaches of our rival, but because it benefits us, its alright. But what about the kids they recruited to TSUN who now must look elsewhere.
Sign o the times, make new strategies, kids aren't going to sit idle for fans, but do what's best for them. About damn time for CFB free agency
A tad creepy
Yeah.....the players really are the ones stealing from the schoolParaphrase:
While not playing a down of football I want to thank tOSU for the free and excellent medical care and physical therapy I received from the very best in the country. I also want to thank tOSU for the free education I received from such a great University. Finally, I want to thank Coach Day for believing in me even though my knee was blown out and knowing that my rehab and development as a player would take significant time. Now that my knee is better and I realize I really am afraid of competition I am leaving but want to wish everyone the best.
