Personally, I don't think you ought to get too pissed at Herbstreit, May, and the rest. The thing to bear in mind is, they're not paid for their "commentary". Their relation to sports is the same as the relation of a laugh-track to a sitcom. Or of Ed McMahon to Johnny Carson. Don't get angry at them because they yell "Hey-oh!" every 45 seconds. That's what they're paid to do.

Herbie giving the EPSN spin. Saying tOSU fans should be "dancing in the street". He acted like he didn't even know if the 9 schollies was 9 per year, or 3 for 3 years.

He also says he won't compare tOSU to USC and then he goes ahead and compares tOSU to USC.

His comments on Tressel were unexpectedly supportive, though.

I caught the interview by accident. Herbstreit couldn't have sounded more disingenuous in his feigned lack of knowledge about the details of the sanctions. I guess he was acting like anyone who didn't already know the details would assume that the scholarship loss should be nine per year. In essence he agreed with Cowherd that tOSU got a slap on the wrist.
