QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

OVI penalties should be progressive like speeding violations. I've always thought it unfair to treat someone who blows a .08 the same as someone who blows a .16, but that's the world we live in. I don't agree with the law, but JT broke it and got caught. He also broke team rules by drinking in the first place. Give him the chance to pay his debt to the team by suspending him for however many games the rules dictate, and I'm sure he'll work twice as hard when his suspension is over.

Lol I just got caught with my first speeding ever and it totally wasn't progressive in that area. Hell they just had a list of charges circle what they did and circle the number of offenses and the number of offenses determine what you pay. It was probably a win for me as they clocked me going 77 in a 60 passing a car but I always though they were progressive as well.

Have seen a ton of media today... TV and in print... and must say, very few are pillorizing JT's character... beyond ranting about indefensible evils of DWI
contraire.. it's MEYER's character and OSU's reputation that are being pillorized...

Yeah, some in the media are saying it's a joke that Meyer/OSU didn't abide by their own punishment for this offense with JT missing only 1 game instead of 2. Now the writers who have been waiting for something to justify their ongoing critique of Meyer's discipline/culture are getting something to add to their litany of complaints.

And that discipline/culture they want to justify would be...?

I'm pretty sure sure the University made the call base on its policies. Smith explained it quite succinctly.

Has UFM said a word yet? I do know he's glad the book tour was last week? This is hard to defend..JT has a serious lapse in judgment GS explained the school policy.Iam sure Urban will let JT know what he needs to do to see the field again this year.

Naturally, I wish the best for both Cardale and JT, that they get to both go to the NFL and do well.

But Another silver lining is that, in my thinking, this ups the odds that neither jumps to the NFL after this season. That increases the odds of a three peat.

Well what was incorrect was that the 2 game requirement was being thrown around early, but then later in the day it came out that since it was a misdemeanor and not a felony that was incorrect. Technically zero discipline required. I still would have gone 2 games, but it could have been zero (with a ton of public backlash, rightfully so).
