Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2015)

First, if you put Les Miles and anyone else (or anyschool else) in the same sentence, Les will always be the goofy one.
Second, LSU should curb stomp Miss State. They are very severely overrated right now, and I feel LSU is under rated. Similar talent gap as we saw with OSU/ VaTech, MissSt has some really good NFL guys, but LSU will be starting mostly NFL guys.

Speaking of Les Miles in the rankings thread...

I think the SEC should have 25 teams in the top 25

FSU and Miami built "dynasty's" in the 90's off both being in the top 5 every pre-season, facing each other in September and demolishing the ACC/BigEast

Loser never pays for losing to rival and has all year to overcome a loss to top 5 team.

If John Cooper could have played scUM in September he'd have 2 or 3 NC's
It always annoyed me that UF got a do over against FSU in 1996. That Ohio State team is a contender for the best Ohio State Team I have ever seen.

98 was good too, but I think 96 was better, plus at least scUM was ranked at the end of the year. 1998 MSU did not even have a winning record. Utterly inexcusable.

Also, in 1996, Ohio State beat 3 teams ranked in the top 5 at the time they played.
Fine. 1998 was better. Yes 1998 tripped up against a shitty team, but they were a juggernaut that got Cooper-snakebit. Hell, even in the MSU game, we were dominating.

Louisville loses at home to Houston a week after losing by 7 to Auburn in Atlanta. But Auburn's win over the Cards will count as a win over a "ranked team", once again demonstrating the flaw in using that as a measure of quality wins when based on preseason polls. Auburn has done NOTHING to warrant a Top 25 ranking through 2 games, other than being an SEC school.

Speaking SEC schools, ten of them were in the top 25 this week and I laughed. See Auburn and Arkansas today.

It's easy to rack up "wins over ranked opponents" when lazy media rank almost your entire conference before they even play a game, and you play conference games right out of the gate.
Didn't LSU gain a spot for not even playing a game last week? I know an SEC team jumped up after something like that, thought it was LSU.
