Because the SEC is better than the NFL...I'm also not sure how Missouri is still ranked, let alone actually moving up in the polls after that joke of a performance against Arkansas State.

I see your point, but don't agree. If they barely squeak by VT and Hawaii, I could see an argument for msu #1. But they beat both with ease. Add that to the fact that they are the returning champ and obviously good enough to be unanimous preseason #1. This isn't the same case where FSU was the returning champ, preseason #1 but we're jumped due to sacking hard and getting lucky. I could see an argument for MSU being #2 eight now, but I wouldn't go as far as #1.I think it's fair, MSU has the biggest win of the season so far -- out of anyone. They deserve some love, more than they're getting. And we'll get a chance to settle it on the field.
Don't be surprised if Playoff Committee has MSU ahead of us in their first rankings... we'll have played Indiana, Maryland, PSU, Rutgers by that point.

Then regarding them being #1 and osu #2 in the playoff rankings when they meet, I would use the same logic but extrapolated through 10 weeks. If osu is crushing everyone msu won't jump them. But if they somehow pull an fsu and barely best several teams, I could buy that argument.
Agreed, it doesn't matter. But I would be surprised if msu was over osu. Unless they dominate down the stretch and osu struggles, osu will be over them.I don't know, I much prefer playoff committee's more fluid changes.
And besides it was... what? 2 or 3 #1 votes? We're really bitching cuz MSU got a handful of #1 votes in a poll that means nothing?
I'll be surprised if, assuming we're both still undefeated, Playoff Committee doesn't have MSU ahead of us on Nov 3rd... don't see an issue there either. We get to settle it on the field and put to rest whose #1. I'll be pissed if we're not both top-5 prior to playing though. Whoever wins that game deserves a stamped ticket to the playoffs pending CCG.
Doug Lesmerises and Jon Wilner are the ones who voted MSU #1...they both had them at #5 last week.No longer unanimous #1 in the AP. MSU got 2 votes. Personally think that's a bit jumping the gun but then by the same token who gives a fuck?

Wilner is a complete idiot.Doug Lesmerises and Jon Wilner are the ones who voted MSU #1...they both had them at #5 last week.
Buckeyes may drop from #1 tomorrow and guess what? It doesn't matter. It's September and OSU is still undefeated. Maintain that record and it's playoff time and there's no question about it.
Frankly, maybe dropping from the top spot would be a good thing? Starting with the suspensions this summer and the yapping on Twitter some of our boys may be a bit TOO confident. After all, everyone picked them to be the top team again this year. Of course, the coaches have work to do as well. We need to settle on a QB and get back to basics on offense.
Right now I wouldnt vote us 1. I miss Tom Herman.
