I'm as big of a homer as anyone but you guys crack me up with your criticisms of other teams in the top 10 range as if OSU doesn't have a lot of weakness so far. The truth is that its early in the season and nobody has separated themselves from the pack right now and looked awesome. If the season ended right now and you wanted a realistic chance at figuring out a true champion you would need at least an 8 team playoff. And seeding them wouldn't be easy either. Yes it's early but based on eye test alone there doesn't look to be a huge disparity between the top 8-10 teams. I say eye test because the sample size of results on the field is way too small, but 4 games in and I'm surprised this year at how little drop off there appears to be in the top group of teams. There are several teams that look like they could win it all and yet every one of them has shown some flaws, have had been injury prone, etc. The back half of the season will weed out the weak links but it still seems like most years you could point to at least one or two teams that you just know will be a contender. This year? Not so much.
Who wins the PAC 12? Last year easy money on Oregon at this point. Who wins the SEC? Last year at this point wasn't perfectly clear but smart money would have been on Bama....this year is clearly more wide open. The ACC winner has more uncertainty at this point than last year when, despite close victories you could sense FSU would be the champ. I'd say the Big 10 and Big 12 are just about the same as last year with regards to uncertainty at this point so that's a wash. And then you have the Domers who seem to be more on track for a shot than last year at this point.
