Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2015)

I don't see it as trollish leaving the bucks out of the top 4 for the time being, just realistic tbh

I fully expect by the end of the season to be in the playoffs but the play so far has not been worthy

That's why I said kind of. :)

I think if watched all of the complete games of all the teams you have in front of tOSU, you'd find they were just as flawed. Maybe UCLA has played better against better competition, but that's about it.

If the season ended right now and you wanted a realistic chance at figuring out a true champion you would need at least an 8 team playoff

You're arguing a point based on ending the season after 4 games (mostly OOC at that)... OK.
As the current NC holders, Ohio State gets more benefit of the doubt. That said, still haven't looked as bad as a lot of the teams mentioned. Rusty, yes. Discombobulated on offense at times, yes. Yet the offense showed flashes against the 1 P5 opponent and the Defense more than passes the eye test as elite.
If we drop a game somewhere (always possible), then we can discuss it. If we remain undefeated we're in -- that's one of the perks of being the undisputed NCs.

I have a lot more confidence that the Buckeyes win the B1G than I do that the (name any team, with Utah having the inside track) win the Pac12, the (name any team, with maybe Climpson holding the inside track) win the ACC, the Baylor Weeping Vaginas win the Big XII-II, or Georgia winning the S-E-C.

With that said, I fully expect the Buckeyes to lose to either MSU or Michigan. Michigan is going to be our biggest test down the stretch ... and I submit that's probably as it should be.

pect the Buckeyes to lose to either MSU or Michigan.
A. Reported for making me think about such a vile eventuality
2. I think I'd rather lose this week to the whos from whoville than lose to anh team from up north.
III. I have 100% faith in urban and co to get any isssues worked out by pkayoff time. They might have looked less that perfect vs the cupcakes, but they were damn good weekone vs fake tech, who despite their annual loss to ecu, is a good team with an excellent defense that osu made look silly. They'll be ready for the real tests and give a more complete effort. Fuck all tje doubters, even the buckeye fan ones.

I'm as big of a homer as anyone but you guys crack me up with your criticisms of other teams in the top 10 range as if OSU doesn't have a lot of weakness so far. The truth is that its early in the season and nobody has separated themselves from the pack right now and looked awesome. If the season ended right now and you wanted a realistic chance at figuring out a true champion you would need at least an 8 team playoff. And seeding them wouldn't be easy either. Yes it's early but based on eye test alone there doesn't look to be a huge disparity between the top 8-10 teams. I say eye test because the sample size of results on the field is way too small, but 4 games in and I'm surprised this year at how little drop off there appears to be in the top group of teams. There are several teams that look like they could win it all and yet every one of them has shown some flaws, have had been injury prone, etc. The back half of the season will weed out the weak links but it still seems like most years you could point to at least one or two teams that you just know will be a contender. This year? Not so much.

Who wins the PAC 12? Last year easy money on Oregon at this point. Who wins the SEC? Last year at this point wasn't perfectly clear but smart money would have been on Bama....this year is clearly more wide open. The ACC winner has more uncertainty at this point than last year when, despite close victories you could sense FSU would be the champ. I'd say the Big 10 and Big 12 are just about the same as last year with regards to uncertainty at this point so that's a wash. And then you have the Domers who seem to be more on track for a shot than last year at this point.

Hahahahaha. Yeah I'm a hater. I'm simply saying that picking apart the worthiness of a top 10 team right now is folly. This is even more true this year than most. But heck, look at the ranking and flaws of last years eventual NC after week 4. They rolled through the playoffs.

My dad called me last night and we started talking Buckeyes. It dawned on me that we likely aren't winning any NCs this year. It sucked saying it out loud. As long as we don't lose to Penn State or Michigan, I'll be OK. I know we'll eventually lose to the Harbaugh, but it can't be in his first year.

Lol, what? To say OSU hasn't looked great is accurate. Want to know what else is accurate? NOBODY HAS! There is no great team. Perhaps you went from "OSU is a lock to repeat" to "OSU has a chance to repeat." But if you skipped all the way to "the season is doomed, there's only a remote chance at a repeat" then you are jumping the gun.

There's a difference between doomed and not winning a title.
