No lie, that's what I've got. Split 1/2 a beef with my in-laws. The stuff is frozen solid, though. The wife finally opened the freezer and saw the big pieces hadn't begun to thaw yet. The steaks did, however.

Beef, it's what's for dinner.
Down here, to tell what happened to the freezer while we were away, we freeze a cup of water and put a nickel on top and keep it in the freezer.

When we come back later, if the nickel is still on top (or damn near), the meat is fine 'cause the power was not out long if at all. If the nickel has sunk into the cup, and water is frozen over it, you know the power was out, the freezer got warm and then froze again when it came back on.

Throw that stuff out.

Well, I'm glad that some of you are coming back up... especially anyone who has special needs.... or are let's say "extra- inconvenienced."

Been catching up on some reading myself...

Found an ice source, grill works, gas hot water heater... so... its not that big of a deal for me until about Friday, at which point I'll run out of clean underwear.

Outage!!!

Power outage!

Grrrrrrrr.

Luckily we have a generator that we can hook up and keep the two fridges working and a light.

We are on a well. Nothing to pump the water and heat it.

The Tricity came back on. Thank God!

We had this happen the last two years.

I am going to buy a generator to run everything. Electric whole house.

I was in Cincinnati yesterday dropping off my daughter at UC, Traffic lights out all over the place downtown. It still amazes me how many people blow right through a downed light without even slowing down.

Could just be the way to drive while in Cincinnati... I'll work on that?

Yeah. I saw a lot of that Monday afternoon here. The whole 'treat a non-functional crossing signal as a four-way stop' thing really confuses a lot of people.

More evidence that the BMV needs to just throw out the current written portion of drivers exams and replace it with a standard IQ test.

Sorry Sir, but we're going to have to suspend your driving privileges. Turns out you're just too fucking stupid.
