Loathing All Things Georgia
Down here, to tell what happened to the freezer while we were away, we freeze a cup of water and put a nickel on top and keep it in the freezer.JCOSU86;1262505; said:No lie, that's what I've got. Split 1/2 a beef with my in-laws. The stuff is frozen solid, though. The wife finally opened the freezer and saw the big pieces hadn't begun to thaw yet. The steaks did, however.
Beef, it's what's for dinner.
When we come back later, if the nickel is still on top (or damn near), the meat is fine 'cause the power was not out long if at all. If the nickel has sunk into the cup, and water is frozen over it, you know the power was out, the freezer got warm and then froze again when it came back on.
Throw that stuff out.
