Not so fast...Here is an article I posted a while back in the Lady bucks thread...

Link

It would be great to add her to Harmon and Harris, and Reif would be the icing on the cake...Would be an amazing class for tOSU...
That was in October. Everything that I have read recently she does not mention Ohio State. I will try to remember to link something the next time I read something about her.

This kid gets some grief from fans for some erratic play but this interview is something worth reading...

Another ?point? of view

Two days after backup point guard Anthony Crater was released from his scholarship, P.J. Hill was made available for an interview before practice yesterday. Hill may be getting some of the minutes Crater left behind when the Buckeyes open the Big Ten season against Iowa tonight.
If you had asked me three weeks ago which player was most likely to transfer out of the program before winter quarter began Monday, I would have predicted Hill. I had no reason to think that other than intuition; I've seen it happen before.

Hill was a junior buried behind another junior (Jeremie Simmons) and freshman (Crater) and playing mop-up minutes if any at all. I would not have been surprised if he had transferred out of NCAA Division I so he could go somewhere and play immediately.
Hill said yesterday he never considered it, then offered an explanation that was strikingly different from the reason offered by Crater?s former AAU coach, Carlos Fordham, for why Crater decided to leave.

PJ sounds like the type of kid that you can't help but like. I have a lot of respect for kids that stick it out even though they are clearly not going to be all americans. Role players are so important and I love it when guys keep at it and understand their roles. That is what teamwork is all about. Guys who truly appreciate the chance to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

I'll get off the soapbox now. But reading these quotes by PJ this morning was a breath of fresh air!

I will admit that I am not the biggest fan when it comes to P.J.'s basketball skills but I am a big fan of him because he wants to be a Buckeye and knows not everyone can be on the court. Some guys had to sacrifice some things and he is one of those guys.

Based on the effort Crater was giving for much of the past month, if Hill plays just like he did against Iowa the rest of the year and doesn't score a single point, Hill > Crater every day of the week. Hill doesn't seem to have a lot of playmaking skills (i.e., I don't think he can make entry passes from the perimeter and I don't think he's capable of doing those drive & kicks you'd like to see from a PG) but I didn't see Crater doing those things, either. Hill also seems to have improved his shot over last year, although we haven't seen much of it this year. Bottom line is I think Hill will do a better job the rest of this year than Crater would've managed.

Matta was asked why he played Crater and not Hill before the Iowa game, and he basically said something that didn't make a whole lot of sense, that he liked the contrast between Simmons and Crater (as if there isn't a similar contrast between Simmons and Hill).
