Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Re: Jared, a preferred walk-on, asked to be released from Akron in early August because he was not invited to preseason camp. Shortly afterward, he reached out to Penn State's coaching staff, which seemed receptive to his addition.

Jared Fagnano said the thought of transferring first crossed his mind in early August when he wasn't invited to Akron's preseason camp. He said he got lost in the shuffle after some shake-ups with the coaching staff.

"I wouldn't say it was an easy decision because I liked Akron, I fit up there," Jared said. "But it was an easy decision in the sense I could play at Penn State and play with my brother. That's always kind of been a dream for me, just to be on Penn State. I was real excited when I found out I had that opportunity."

He must not have "fit in" too well at Akron.

Do you really have to ask for your release if you're a walk-on? Do you really have to ask for one if you've essentially been treated like Milton in Office Space?

QB: A- Having O'Brien will make all the difference. Plus Matty will not be looking over his shoulder at Bolden
OL: B Hearing really good things about the new starters
RB: B+ Belton will be all B1G. Did you watch that game against a really good o$U defense last year? Kid has game
TE: B They will miss AZ but the young kids could step up big-time
WR: B+ I think the yougins could really shine especially Kenney

DL: A They are solid in the 2 deep. Should be a great rotation
LB: A+ Best tandem in the B1G bar none
DB: B- Lots of potential here. They had a great DB class in 2010

I think that equals 12-1 or 11-2 at worst.

Holy shit, if you don't fit into Terry Bowden's plans for a team that went about 2-234672346723467 the past several years...CHAMPIONSHIPS

From the thread: "WR corps will be an improvement this year and you can quote me on that."

Um...didn't they lose like their top 7 targets? Did Jerry Rice find some new eligibility?
immobile qb who completed 54% for 8 & 5

+ 4 new offensive line starters

+ top 3 receivers who have a combined 7 career receptions

+ loss of best running back, who would have given defenses at least some pause

= improvement?

Isn't the entire defensive backfield a collection of unproven underclassmen and walk-ons?

I have a good feeling about this year's team Reply
I think they are in the best shape of any PSU team in the past 40 years and are really hungry to prove something. I think BOB will have them playing up to or beyond their potential. We have a real offensive play caller and an aggressive defense. If McGloin can limit mistakes we will be very tough to beat.
