Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Ho hum. Another "journalist" citing incomplete facts from CNN as the basis of his opinion. I'll wait until the facts are out before I "rush to judgment".

Again this seems to be the consensus response over there - completely ignoring the subtext of the article. This is from someone who is close to the program. Someone who had been hearing rumors for some time. Someone who was not surprised to hear that Joe was more involved. Someone who was waiting for a report like that from CNN not because they wanted to torpedo the program, but because they were waiting for someone to substantiate what they already believed to be the case.

To be sure, this reporter could be wrong. CNN could be wrong. We could all be wrong.

But we aren't.

Balanced, fair article. A rare commodity.

So many people have this wrong. What the majority of us saw was a human being, university employee and football coach who donated boatloads of money while technically being underpaid, gave back to his community, gave back to his university, and made sure his football players were prepared for life after and outside of football, while the majority of coaches at big time schools cared very little about it. Of course he was flawed. Even Jesus was so when people on here say some of us don't think he was, it's a bit insulting.

Yeah, I mean, so what if he knew his right-hand man was ass [censored]ing preteen boys and wanted to keep it in house in the interest of self-preservation. The man was a saint!

God, [censored] these subhuman, mutant, monsters. Round them all up, drop a few tons of napalm on them, then salt the earth. These mutants don't deserve any of our oxygen.

GOB, again unsupported.

Hypothetical conversation

Tim: Joe please tell me again what Mike said to you?

Joe: Mike was vague but he thought he saw something of a sexual nature. Why do you ask?

Tim: I was just reviewing the facts after talking to Mike.

Joe: Ok. Bye

How would that be strong evidence....... stop fanning the flames and let it play out because not everyone is irrational.

This is so fucking stupid. What, did Mcqueary go into witness protection or something? Was he unavailable to "clear up" exactly what he saw? Was he temporarily abducted by aliens that JoePed was the only one who could "clear up" what exactly Mcqueary witnessed? Jesus Fucking Christ. If this hypothetical conversation was even remotely accurate, the logical step for both these men would be to get Mcqueary back in there to tell them exactly what he witnessed. But, since we know that didn't happen, this hypothetical conversation didn't take place. The conversation that did take place was more along the lines of:

Joe: I will have your fucking job if this gets out. Don't fuck with me.

Tim: Ok.

Vitale, to his credit, tweeted from London: "I was wrong." I wouldn't hold out too much hope for Franco Harris though. He's a high priest of the cult and will go down with the ship before opening his eyes.

Kudos to Dick Vitale.

Not something I say very often.

I still maintain that there are better mechanisms (the CIC, AAU and accrediting agencies) than the ncaa to force this, but ultimately don't really care how it's done.

Under normal circumstances I would argue that the State should come in and take control of the University for a couple of years to clean house & get everything into some semblance of order. Unfortunately given how pervasive Penn State alums are within the state government of PA I don't know if even that is feasible right now.

What needs to be done is to completely remove the 'old boys' network & bring in professionals from the outside to run the show and get them past the crisis.

I see little chance of that actually happening.

Yep. The irreparable harm that he allowed to befall children is the yardstick by which he will forever be measured.

Seems like ESPN has a new narrative and seem to be talking Joe Paterno and Penn State and NCAA LOIC on every radio show.

I don't listen to ESPN Radio (ever), but a co-worker told me they keep hammering the PSU thing on every show. It is a slow time in the sports world though.

One thing that has kind of grated on me this whole time is how little vitriol Dottie Sandusky has received. This old bat knew damn well what was going on, and just like every other evil [censored] involved with this fiasco, did nothing. I hope there's a nice hot poker reserved for her ass as well.

[censored]ing evil old bag...

BTW, the comments for that article are a hoot...

Sept. 16th 2010 wasn't even a weekend! I mean, if he came knocking on a Friday, sure, be upset.

From a New York Times article.
Freeh?s investigators are also exploring the circumstances surrounding Paterno?s decision to eventually hire McQueary as an assistant, the person familiar with the investigation said. McQueary, a former quarterback for Paterno at Penn State, has testified under oath that when he first contacted Paterno to inform him of what he had seen in the showers, Paterno assumed he was calling to ask for a job, and that Paterno brusquely told him he would not be hired.
McQueary was ultimately hired over another, more experienced candidate, and investigators are curious about whether that development came as a consequence of what he told Paterno that morning in 2001.

Oh, more cover-up.... Shocking.

Now watch, those PedState fuckers are going to say... "More bullshit with no actual facts, I'll believe it when facts come out."
