Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Agreed. Hard to be embarrasing for the B1G when the rest of the B1G had nothing to do with the scandal.

I understand what you both are saying...but how many times was tOSU and "tatgate" somehow thrown into a report about PSU and child rape? Maybe embarrassed was a bad word to use...but like it or not there is always guilt by association. I'm willing to bet that if Indiana somehow got in trouble the PSU and tOSU situations would work themselves into the story. I'm not saying that it's right but how many times have people on this board gotten pissed because somespinhow somespinone somespinwhere, wrote a story like you could compare the 2?

Well, of course the spin doctors at ESPN are going to do anything and everything in their power to continue to drag OSU down... IMO, it's water under the bridge at this point (for OSU).

The question to ask is 'If there was no football at Ped State, would a pedophile like Sandusky have been stopped at the first chance to do so?' I believe that answer is absolutely yes. So, but for football and its influence, this would have never gotten to the point that it did. Fuck their football program, shut it down for a while...

It was all about protecting the football program.
I saw that the state of Pennsylvania has a bad reputation for not prosecuting sex crimes.

One thing that has kind of grated on me this whole time is how little vitriol Dottie Sandusky has received. This old bat knew damn well what was going on, and just like every other evil [censored] involved with this fiasco, did nothing. I hope there's a nice hot poker reserved for her ass as well.

On Sept. 15, 2010, Sandusky quit The Second Mile charity, and alarm bells went off for me. This was it, I thought. Police must know something. But I couldn?t know for certain without confronting Sandusky himself. I drove to State College on Sept. 16, knocked on his door in a rainstorm and was met by his wife, Dottie.

I asked if Jerry was home. No, said Dottie cordially, he wasn?t. I fished out a business card and handed it to her and said he might remember me as a reporter from when he was a coach more than a decade before and please would she have him call me. She pleasantly said she would.

And then, I mentioned police. Had police questioned him about anything lately? The question was that benign. I wanted to test her reaction.

It was not quizzical. Not: ?Police? What do you mean, police??

Instead, it was immediate and forceful. Dottie Sandusky narrowed her eyes and said to me: ?If you have any other questions, you can ask the people at The Second Mile. And I do not appreciate you coming to my house.? She slammed the door in my face.
[censored]ing evil old bag...

BTW, the comments for that article are a hoot...

More and more, especially after reading that article there, the signature scene from "A Few Good Men" keeps going through my head...That, and the possibly more sinister and telling line from earlier in the movie by Colonel Markinson, when he said "A man doesn't get to that position without knowing how to sidestep a few landmines"

Balanced, fair article. A rare commodity.

So many people have this wrong. What the majority of us saw was a human being, university employee and football coach who donated boatloads of money while technically being underpaid, gave back to his community, gave back to his university, and made sure his football players were prepared for life after and outside of football, while the majority of coaches at big time schools cared very little about it. Of course he was flawed. Even Jesus was so when people on here say some of us don't think he was, it's a bit insulting.

Joe was flawed... but, he was flawed like Jesus.

Ho hum. Another "journalist" citing incomplete facts from CNN as the basis of his opinion. I'll wait until the facts are out before I "rush to judgment".

Uh... Hey guy. The facts are out... Quit hiding under your rock.

I believe this quote sums all of this up best (all of this being BWI, etc.):

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true. The other is to refuse to believe what is true." ---Soren Kierkegaard

Here's another gem:

GOB, again unsupported.

Hypothetical conversation

Tim: Joe please tell me again what Mike said to you?

Joe: Mike was vague but he thought he saw something of a sexual nature. Why do you ask?

Tim: I was just reviewing the facts after talking to Mike.

Joe: Ok. Bye

How would that be strong evidence....... stop fanning the flames and let it play out because not everyone is irrational.

Amazing how some fan's tune changes when it's THEIR team that is in the limelight....
