Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

This is a man who, knowing full damn well that kids were abused, stood on his lawn in front of cameras and said "victims, or whatever you want to call them".

I don't know he knew in 98 or in 2001. I believe he absolutely did, but I don't know for certain. But he was told something back then....and then the arrest came in 2011, which brought validity to the stories he heard 10 years earlier. At that point he 100% knew that what he was told ended up being true. Whatever plausible deniability he has for not doing anything before 2011, when he was standing on his door step that night talking to that crowd of mutant cultists, he 100% knew that the rumors and stories ended up being factual. And that's when he chose to call them "victims or whatever".

One million percent he would have said something or done something to further embarrass/incriminate himself or the football program.

Yeah, he could barely handle the press when they were fawning over him and fully buying into the myth. He was notorious for banishing any PA writer that displeased him. Just look at how poorly he did in the espn interview over his players' arrests. And now he's several years older, suffering from cancer and dealing with an issue a million times more damaging to his precious legacy. No way it ends well for him. A hostile crowd that would have certainly included non-sportswriter, investigative journalists (many from the national press) would have tied the old coot in knots for the world to see.

I'd also wager that the university's counsel told them to keep him off that stage.

Impossible. It's a well-documented fact that the University and BoT were jealous of, and hated Joesus, don't ya know? There's no way they would go out of their way to protect him from further embarrassing himself, the University or the football program (and yes, those are listed in order of relevance).

Oh, and for the record, I believe ole' Jer' Bear was abusing kids for years - way earlier than the '98 incident and I believe that Joesus knew about it. He may not have approved of it, but IMO, he tolerated it.

Your order is wrong then.
1-10. Joe
11. The football program
12. The university

I like michnittlion. Of course, my troll account on BWI can never "like" anything he says,

That is what happened to poor "Joe Pa Thetic" on BWI. Simply by throwing some "likes" to CR66 and michnittlion, the Cult began calling for my banishment over there. Even liking a negative Joesus post over there is reason for banishment on BWI. I did find it rather amusing while it lasted how exasperated the Cult would get over the "likes" of posts by CR66 and MNL.

Obviously a name like "Joe Pa Thetic" has a short shelf like on BWI. But I just started liking the anti-Joesus posts because of how amusing it was to drive the Cult crazy without even posting.

Joe was barely competent there in his final couple of years. You could barely understand him half of the time. I remember him being asked about new rule changes at the Big Ten Media Conference prior to the 2009 or 2010 season (heck, it might have been 2008) and Joe had no clue about rules changes. I remember him being asked questions in post game press conferences when he couldn't remember what had happened during the game or remembered it wrong. He had a tendency to blow up at reporters if they asked him questions he didn't like. They couldn't let him face the media after the Sandusky serial pedophile case came to light.

But it would have been awesome if they had. It probably woukd have been good for the cultists to witness it too.

What's you endgame?

I'm not sure yet. I just enjoy posting some crazy, off-the-wall crap praising Penn State or vilifying anyone else, just to see who will rationally oppose me and who will blindly "like" my posts.

I saw you "liking" stuff over there. And I remember you saying that that's why you got banned. I don't have a whole lot of experience with other teams' message boards, but they are by far the least willing to see opposing viewpoints - or even ANY viewpoints from fans of opposing teams.

Right. I'm sure the username calling Joe pathetic had nothing to do with it.

Obvious troll is obvious.

I realize the PSU beat writers had to navigate the difficult path of covering the team while also not angering Joesus. But I have always found it pitiful that not a single PSU beat writer was willing to dig around for information when the biggest scandal in the history of college sports was happening right under their noses. It took a 24-year-old woman right out of college to scoop reporters who had been covering the team for decades. Of course, I know, I know, the BWI explanation for that is that Sara Ganim was sleeping with Governor Tom Corbett and/or someone in the attorney general's office.

I wonder if any editor's of daily newspapers in the state asked their beat writers why they got scooped on such a worldwide story.

Like I said, I didn't initially create that screen name to "like" other posts. To quote a great pedophile enabler, "With the benefit of hindsight..." i would have created a pro Penn St. name -- or at least a more neutral name. The "Joe Pa Thetic" name was one I created to post on pantherlair.com, so I was already logged in with that name when I would visit BWI. I then found it amusing how worked up the Cult would get without even posting.

It did take a long time before the Cult's pleas to McAndrew were finally answered.

They probably didn't have to. They knew how Joesus managed the press. Any sportswriter even suspected of sniffing around that subject would have been banned from covering the program, probably the entire newspaper.

I mean how many games did he watch.....errr, I mean "coach...from the pressbox with no headset on just so he could get closer to the Holy 409. Man, I would have loved to have put JoePed in a room with somebody like Walter Bogdanich that day. He would have Joesus admitting to having kidnapped the Lindbergh baby.
