Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Monday will be the fourth anniversary of Joesus' firing by the Board of Trustees. What does that mean, you ask? Why, more attention-whoring from the Paterno family, of course. The latest incarnation of Paterno attention-whoring comes in the form of a letter from Sue Paterno in which she continues to seek the "truth" and expresses hope that the "facts" will some day come out.

Quite obviously, the Cult gulps down this latest Sue Paterno letter and lauds her for remaining classy despite the overwhelming wrongs that have been committed against the Paterno family.

1. I don't know Sue, but I am confident that she, nor any other Paterno, wrote that letter. A publicist wrote it.
2. So St. Joe was not just about football, correct? St. Joe gave so much to the university. What's the value the university has gained from Joe and his image? Right and all that. So why is she writing this just to lettermen?
3. Ha! So she wants to do something for the 50th anniversary of his first game. How awesome would it be if Penn State steals her thunder, and surprises everyone with something of their own? Nothing big, of course. Just something like a pre-game video montage of a bunch of Penn State games and things that St. Joe takes credit for. The Paterno family will be at the local flea market, thinking that their party is the only one in town. 12 people show up and mostly comment about how that party isn't as good as Penn State's party, which really wasn't as good as it should have been, anyway.

BOT cultist and one time baseball legend Anthony Lubrano makes an appearance in that thread
John Surma had tremendous animus toward Joe. He cancelled Joe's Tuesday press conference. He blamed athletics for his lack of oversight.

Joe's firing was very personal for John, as it was for Paul Suhey. Both wanted Joe removed for some time.

Joe Paterno was scapegoated by a group of cowards led by John Surma, Tom Corbett, Ron Tomalis, Dave Joyner and Paul Suhey.

Has anybody ever explained a motive behind those people who supposedly wanted Paterno fired? I mean....I hated the mother fucker like no other, but these are people who probably stood to benefit from him still being around, right?

I thought it was jealousy. I don't remember if I read that or just inferred it. But really - few in the world actually achieve the success Joesus had. Few in the world actually maintain the honor that Joesus had. None, other than Joesus on high, could ever hope to keep both. Let's fire him so he quits making us look bad.

Ha - Penn State fans are bitter that Ohio State gets to play another night game.

http://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/3rd-straight-play-week-that-ohio-state-is-on.57842/

This game was set as a night game before the season began. One guy brings up the point that CBS has LSU-Bama - and that's why no one else is willing to put a better game (FSU-Clemson) in this slot. It certainly can't be because Ohio State has a lot of fans and they think that viewership will be high, can it?

Everyone is counter programming LSU/Alabama. The ACC plays second fiddle to the SEC, so no one would be watching Clemson/FSU if it was also primetime.
This actually makes sense. If you ignore the fact that games are always scheduled against each other. How many times do you find yourself being annoyed that 2 or 3 games that you want to watch are all in the same time slot, while the 12 or 3:30 time slot has a bunch of duds.

Here's a typical post on their board about the Sandusky mess: http://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/so-does-the-kane-testimony-end-sanduskys-appeal.57824/

Subject: So does the Kane testimony end Sandusky's appeal?

A person might see that and think, I wonder what the testimony is and how it could end Sandusky's appeal. Let's click to find out more. Of course, that person would be wasting their time, because they NEVER actually talk about anything. It's just abbreviations that only they know, last names of people only they know, and just a lot of assumptions that lead to them thinking a fair trial will expose everybody who has ever harmed their beloved Joe Paterno.

Nice to see that the Paterno family is desperately clinging to whatever sense of relevance they have left..... Let's face it, outside of the Pedster Joesus cult, who gives a rats ass what Sue/Scott/Jay Paterno feel they're entitled to or owed?

Exactly. I (regretfully) read the letter, and it came off to me as nothing more than another effort by the Paternos to get up on a soapbox and whine about Joe's firing. I'm not even sure why this is news anymore--she sent a self-serving letter to the "Penn State Lettermen." Who cares?
