Oh and on the OL...it is pathetic. I completely agree with Jag, Bollman needs to go. It's long overdue and I wouldn't mind seeing Walt Harris coming in as OC. I had mentioned how bad Rehring was getting beat earlier and last night, it was just about everyone. Browning couldn't even get a finger on Maybin last night...after awhile I think Pryor just rolled away from Browning's side immediately after he figured out Maybin would never get blocked. One last comment...Terrelle is not setting his feet. He is dancing around there now with shades of Boeckman. I'm pretty convinced it it the OL causing it. Both QB's know they are going to get rushed every play and then when they actually do get some protection, they are too nervous, get happy feet, and don't set their feet to throw the ball. I really don't think Boeckman or Pryor have a lick of confidence in the OL when they are throwing the ball.

16 out of 25 for 226 yards. When Beanie is held to 55 yards rushing. I don't know how we can complain with either the effort or the execution of the passing game.

I think this might summarize the playcalling for the entire game. I have no idea it was going to be a pass:lol: on the very first play of the game when I saw that Maurice Wells was in at TB. If they were going to run a screen pass, I think the bearded one is capable of catching a pass as was proven later in the game.

For those of you where praising our defense, I think I might wait on that until I see PSU play a team with a diversified offense.

Compared to earlier in the season, the defense, specifically the d-line is playing much better. Maybe not the sacks, but at least they're getting pressure on the qb.

The o-line? I'm at a loss for their play.

This is worse than the aftermath after the NC games, or the USC game. And not because of the team, but because of most of you.

WE ARE 7-2, most likely to go 10-2. [censored]ING BE REALISTIC. You cannot win a god damn national championship EVERY season. I understand some of the concerns with the Oline and earlier this year the Dline. However, having the balls to call out the DEFENSE for last nights game is just...stupid?

They shut down a team averaging 50ppg. They were flying around, making big hits, sound tackling(for most of the game) and really only blew 1coverage the entire game. Go watch a [censored]ing B12 defense play and then come talk to me. They played with passion and intensity from start to finish. Thad, Russell, Laurinaitis, Jenkins, Heyward, were jumping around in faces making plays all night long. Most intensity i've seen from them all year long.

Critisize Pryor for his fumble. He deserves it. Though if he doesn't bounce that outside he's not picking it up anyways. Rehring and Brewster both got driven into the backfield as that ball was snapped. I'm not quite sure what Browning was doing last night either. I will tell you this though, Pryor is beating himself up far worse than any of us are. Without him though we aren't even in the game last night. No we didn't score alot of points. But everytime PSU got the ball they were backed up in their own territory so the field position was solid except for the fumble.

His passing needs some work...but some of you treat this as a surprise. I think we all knew what he brought to the table as a Freshman(and picking defenses apart with his passing and reads was not one of them at this time). He still didn't throw careless INT's or take 20 yard sacks. He had 1int on a bomb with like 20 seconds left on the clock. boohoo. He's learning, and for that I am happy for him.

Do changes need to be made? Sure I can probably see a couple after this season. Is the sky falling? absolutely not. We're still a premier CFB team year in and year out and very few programs can say that. If you want problems...go look at Auburn, West Virginia, Michigan, Nebraska, Florida State, Miami, Washington, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Clemson, etc. All historically good/great programs that are/have been laughing stocks of CFB this year or the last few(due to where they normally are).

It was a tough loss last night, no doubt about it. But we lost to a quality team/program that seems to have the IT factor this year and has been consistently great all year. We were UNDERDOGS going into this game might I remind some people. 2005's team did this exact same thing. Lost to two teams that finished in the top 5 but went 10-2 and went to a BCS bowl game and won. Most of you look back now and consider it a successful season. As im sure years from now you'll say the same about this one in hindsight.

Lets all just chill out and accept the fact that we played hard and lost to a very good penn state team. There's a reason JoePa has 381 wins at PSU, accept it.

I'm sick of accepting we lost to a better team. Aren't we tOSU? Don't we always compete to be the best? It's ok to have a down year when you don't even return half your team from the year before but this year there are no excuses. We're supposed to be the best. Fans have a right to be disappointed in this team, IMO. We need to stick by them but they don't get any more excuses.

I was few drinks deep in the fourth quarter of the game so my thoughts could be somewhat compromised. It seemed to me that Penn State was giving us the middle of the field. Trying to work the middle of the field more to get some more yards. In any situation this late in the game short of Marty Morninwheg being the coach there's going to be double, triple coverage in the endzone. It seems to me unless you've got an open guy, you move down the field as far as possible and starting taking the shots at the end zone when the clock forces it.

9. 9...nine undefeated seasons since we started playing football. Four of which included a tie, before that would've been played out to an eventual win or loss. Over a hundred years of football, and NINE seasons without at least one loss.

It happens. Damn near every year.

We got beat by the better TEAM last night.

I'm sick of hearing the "well we returned almost everybody from last year!" logic.

WHAT DID THIS TEAM DO LAST YEAR? Who did they beat? We had a cupcake schedule in a down conference and got worked in the national championship game that we backed into.

I am over it, don't think you blame the game on play but every man/woman has their own opinion...Finish 10-2 and see where we go from there...Would just love to see us get the offense going...

The thing that sucks is just like in 2003, 2005, and 2006 when he we had great opportunties to win the NC and losing guys like Hawk, Holmes, Smith, Ginn, Michael Jenkins, Malcolm Jenkins, Beanie Wells, Pittman, etc...

I understand that there are guy waiting in the wings, sometimes as good as them, sometimes not quite so much as some of them are legends, and take lots of hardware with them, and I know some of them guys won NC in 2002, but when there are teams with those type of talented guys it sucks that sometimes they don't get the job done...

We are going to see on draft day how much talent this team has, and yeah injuries have hurt us quite a bit this year, but it just sucks...

And one thing to add...I can't believe a team can go without a penalty all game...

And on top of that...I was at the game, so I don't know for sure, but the play where Washington got the PI call on him...to me it looked like the QB thru the fade and the receiver ran the slant, so when the receiver went to get back towards the ball obviously the coverage was going to be in the way...

Also I didn't think the play calling was that bad...i saw plays the passes to ray small, out of the trips formation that I hadn't seen all year, and some 5 wide sets where I was saying that it was going to be a Qb draw and we threw the ball...My only problem was that we went away from the bread and butter too much...We tried to get to cute...Yeah we ran Beanie 22 times, and yeah the o-line was blocking great, but I would of rather saw more I-formation runs, than shotgun option reads or option runs...With 8 in the box and running sideways, Beanie can't get the head of steam...I would of liked to see more playaction out of the I-formation as well...

But it is what it is...Over and done with, support the guys, listen to Malcolm and what he had to say during the MSU game and about coming back and how much he enjoys it hear and he is still playing football at its purest form and not ready to get paid for doing something he loves...

Lots of credit goes out to the crowd last night...I am sure some of the usual sit on their seat crowd have sore legs today from standing all game long.

Cupcakes are just bad for ya.....

You eat enough of them, you'll get fat....

You play enough of them, you'll get these performances...

I was at the game, section 30 AA, row 9, all the way down by the south stands, so any action at mid-field or north, I viewed on the jumbotron.

I thought the defense played very well. PSU has a very good offense and they were going to put some points on the board. Our offense needs to be able to do better than 13.

It really seemed that Tressel was content to sit on a 3 point lead with 11 minutes left.

I think TP would have had the 1st on the fumble play, the line got a good push, but I do like his aggerssivness in the audible, if he breaks outside, that could be the game.

I don't think coaches have cought up with the new clock rules yet. 6 minutes aint what it used to be and I fielt that the drive after TD should have been considered a "four down all the way" kind of situation. Being that, on 3rd and four you run the ISO. Beanie was getting 3 to 4 yards each time by that point, and they couldn't stop him. Worst case is probably 4th and 1 and you go for it, even if it's on your own 30.

TP passing:
He needs to put more zip on the ball in some situations, and throw sooner. You don't see it on TV, but live it was obvous how long some of the receivers had to wait on the ball. Also, downfield accuracy needs work. All his throws beyond 15 yards or so were way short. At least three times, Robo had gotten behind the PSU DB's and TP threw short, causing Robo to have to come back and fight for the ball. I don't remember exactly, but I think only one of those were catches. One was a key first down throw just before the fumble. If he leads Robo on that one it's 6, or at least a very long gain. Hopefully this will all come in time. If he works his passing out, he'll dominate.

My greatuncle told me when I was a little kid, "Don't root for Ohio State, they'll always break your heart."
However he also told me, "Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life son." So take it for what it's worth

To me, the point is that this coaching staff and team had us back in a place to be considered seriously for the NC game. After that terrible loss at USC. Not one press article is talking about Ohio State choking against Penn State. What they are talking about is that Ohio State and Penn State played smashmouth football.

We thought we would have a good chance to play for the NC before the season began but after two games it was clear that USC would be a severe test.

Before we start talking down the coaches and team, and I accept that many of the criticisms made have at least some validity, we need to realize that few teams have the chance year in and year out to be considered as NC game contenders. It's not like we have sunk to embarrassing depths. We have played a schedule that ranks among the top 16 in the Sagarin SOS rankings, in the conference that ranks only behind the Big 12 in power rankings (ahead of the SEC).

Tressel and his coaches have not won a big game since Notre Dame and I am one of those who is concerned. But the future is bright. We will be back.

Is it just me, for the passing plays it's either a short route (5-8 yards) or deep routes (20+yards)? Where are the midrange passing plays at?

I'm sure this has something to do with Terrelle's inexperience and probable lack of reading college defenses. Most passes were to the sidelines, and TP kept a few plays alive, but I can think of one pass late in the game, mid-range across the middle was read by the LB and almost picked.
