It must be easier on me when the Bucks lose than it is on you guys. You all have to analize, poke, probe and pick out things about the game that you liked or didn't like.
I just go cry in my beer, gouge my eyes out and flay my skin with a dull rusty razor blade and after about 3 days I let myself breath again.............

This SweaterVest is confused...

Is the sky really falling? What's that you say? A man descending on the clouds? Maybe it's Jesus... or the AntiChrist??? Is the world really ending?!!! Stop crying and catch your breath, I'm trying to make out what you're saying...

Boo freakin hoo...

You'd think our team was 2-7 this season with a slimy sleazeball coach and a first-ever loss to a MAC team...

Deal with it folks: not every year brings a conference championship and national championship game. There, I said it!

We have a less-than-stellar offense this year and a freshman quarterback who probably hasn't grown a beard yet and who was in high school last year. He fumbled the freakin' ball, but there's no need for you to set your couch on fire, tear out your hair, rip your clothes, or wail like the prophet Jeremiah seeing a destroyed Jerusalem.

So Tressel needs to fire Bollman, open up the playbook, yadda yadda yadda... I'll tell him to get on it as soon as he picks me up from the dry cleaners. In the meantime, let's have some perspective.

SweaterVest meltdown over and out.

I wonder if they will ever give up on Ray Small when it comes to punt returns (he is NOT Ted Ginn and never will be)

Lamaar Thomas has looked solid returning kickoffs, why not give him a shot returning punts as well?

Agree 100%. It's time to quit waiting around on Ray. LT looks great returning kicks.

I woke up this morning and to my surprise the sun had risen once again.:wink2: Would anybody disagree that the general consensus is that our offensive line was far and away the weakest part of our game last night? Bollman has some things to address in practice this week, to say the least.
We still have reribution to inflict on Illinois, an ass whipping to give to tsun, and hopefully an SEC to beat in a bowl game. The season is not over, so to those of you who believe it is....get over yourself and stop being a spoiled badwagon fan.

Go Bucks!

Oh and on the OL.. I completely agree with Jag, Bollman needs to go. It's long overdue and I wouldn't mind seeing Walt Harris coming in as OC. I had mentioned how bad Rehring was getting beat earlier and last night, it was just about everyone. Browning couldn't even get a finger on Maybin last night...after awhile I think Pryor just rolled away from Browning's side immediately after he figured out Maybin would never get blocked. One last comment...Terrelle is not setting his feet. He is dancing around there now with shades of Boeckman. I'm pretty convinced it it the OL causing it. Both QB's know they are going to get rushed every play and then when they actually do get some protection, they are too nervous, get happy feet, and don't set their feet to throw the ball. I really don't think Boeckman or Pryor have a lick of confidence in the OL when they are throwing the ball.

You should have heard me during the game. Running the same 4 plays (at least that is what it seemed to me) with the same patterns by the WRs isn't going to confuse anyone.

If TP is the guy, let him run the entire playbook.

Serious question here- with the TV coverage that rarely shows much of the field, how do the people posting here know what plays were called?

I agree wholeheartedly. Open it up, let him make mistakes. We will not be playing in the NC game. Another loss probably wouldn't hurt anyway in terms of bowl placement. Let him learn.

I'm with MolGenBuckeye on this ...

There have to be 18 inches available, even on a QB sneak. Yes, the fumble was obviously a mistake, but I'm not sure he would have had the first down without bouncing outside.
trying to go around the end is not the same as dancing around trying to make too much happen ... where was the protection to keep TP from being stripped backside and how does anyone know that we wasn't turning up field when he was stripped?

MolGenBuckeye;1306564; said:
My guess is that he didn't see the help underneath.

Is it possible that Beanie was supposed to be the safety valve but he elected to pass protect and keep the game alive?

every once in a while, we'll have a 2 loss season with both losses to top 5 teams.

The last night game in the Shoe was Texas, right?
That was a 2 loss season, too, right?
Who was the other loss and how did that season end?

Thanks MolGen for pointing out that there are several trees in this forest.

When they cut to Joseph Pa in the booth in the second half and his headset had slipped down almost to the point that it looked like the visor the Reading Rainbow guy wears on Star Trek...am I the only one that thought he was dead?

I'm upset as well but I'm not sure it's correct to say that Pryor lost OSU the game. He made some crucial mistakes but I certainly can't blame him for everything.

Also, i think this brings a little more perspective to some fans. OSU just is not always going to win 12 or 13 games every season. Right now I think OSU has a good shot at 11-2 as a final record, and guess what? THat's pretty good. I see some people getting so upset but OSU can still have a pretty good season.

I know a lot of people had big time expectations coming into the season, but people need to stop citing that. THis is a totally different team right now. At 2 of the most crucial offensive positions true freshman are starting and that is having a huge effect on the offense. This has gone from OSU"s year to a transition year. The loss of Beanie seemingly forced Tressel's hand to make it so.

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that people need to stop expecting a n NC every year. It just won't happen and OSU is going to loose a handful of games almost every year, just like all of the other elite teams in the nation. OSU fans need to realize that 11-2 seasons are going to happen and that they are also successful seasons.

I don;t mean to rant, but I just feel like some feel that if you change your expectations from "incredible" to realistic that you are being a pussy or something and that OSU is going to get weak. I remember before the season even started on the scout board that a question was asked, "If OSU doesn't win the NC is the season successful?" 98% of the responses were "NO". If you take that point of view you're not going to ever have a very fun time rooting for your team. THis isn't PS2 this is real life.

And the main reason I usually don't try to overly critize the coaches is because I work for a highschooll team and I know what the coaches have to do and how little the fans know. My HS team went 4-6, 6-4, and 7-4 the last 3 years, but now they are 9-1 and a state title favorite. Football's like that. You;re going to to have to coach a good amount of years in order to get multiple NCs. You'll ahve you're ups and downs and people seem to forget this nowadays. Unless you are nearly perfect every season fans seem to not appreciate anyhting anymore.

I respect your opinion LBJ, but to say that Terrelle lost the game for us is simply inaccurate. When we only had 62 yards rushing the whole game against the #3 team in the country, I don't care who's quarterbacking, but we didn't belong in that game. But we did thanks to the mobile QB and quite frankly, some very nice throws. If you blame Terrelle for this loss, then you should blame Boeckman for USC, LSU and Illinois, when he committed a total of what, seven turnovers that cost us five TD?

This is nothing like the SC game, when we simply packed it in. We had a gameplan for this game, we executed our passing game and our defense played with heart. It's a tough loss but if blame has to go somewhere, it's the offensive line, and it's Jim Bollman.

Please explain? He's averaging over 13 yards per return!!! For punt returns, that's a great number. No shit, he's not TG, but who is?

It's hard to get a decent return when the coverage is on yor ass as soon as you catch the ball, and when it's inside the 20, like it was alot last night.

Our pr game is the least of our problems.

The thing that pisses me off more than anything is when the offensive coaches play for field goals when they get in the red zone, like they did on the 2nd field goal.
