OSU Wrestling (2008 and 2009 NCAA Runners-up)

Someone on the live blog/chat at Intermat just posted the following:

Ohio State OSU 77.5
ISU 61
IA 57

People speculating that our lead will not hold.

That seems like a pretty substantial lead, unless ISU has a ton of wrestlers left. Then again, I'm not all that familiar with the scoring format...

I'm with you on that -- and Bucksman is actually predicting Iowa to win it all again. They apparently just lost their 174 lb. wrestler by fall, though. That's good for us.

Howe (Wiscy) beat Morningstar (Iowa) in OT, so Iowa will only have 1 finalist tomorrow - Metcalf at 149.

Also at 165, Reader (Iowa State) lost in 2OT in the other semi.

Both results will help tOSU hang onto the team lead.

As hard to accept as it is, it's actually OK for TSUN's Steve Luke to win his semifinal. He's much more likely to beat Brandon Browne (Neb) in the final, which would keep some points away from Nebraska tomorrow.

Edit - Browne has lost, so we can revert to form and pull for TSUN's Luke to lose in the final tomorrow. :wink2:

Pucillo scoreless after the first period.

Herbert is dominating the guy from Nebraska. He'll be a rough matchup in the final if Pucillo gets through.

Team standings, right after the Pucillo match. (I think these were the #s)

84.5 - tOSU
72.0 - Iowa
64.5 - Iowa State

Edit - But Iowa State just got a win in the 197 semi (I think that's 5 points for them). Plus, they have the #1 seed left in HVW.
