OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

the juco player we want is khadim sy, who is another senegalese center that pitt is recruiting hard. was a virginia tech commit at one point. imposing and athletic for 6'10". also, going 32/100 from three this season is impressive. solid form.

edit: damn he looks good. great feet.

edit #2: unless there are off-the-court or between-the-ears concerns, the guy is a no-brainer. sweet fancy moses.

Get this "kid" an offer…like yesterday…somebody call the basketball office

I know there isn't elite athleticism here, so he's about the opposite end of the spectrum as Diallo, but we're talking a big man with great basketball skills. I've followed him since he was in the Indy area and he keeps improving. Can pass, shoot, score around the rim. His old man was pretty good too.

Actually reminds me a little of Domas Sabonis (Gonzaga, Indiana Pacers, son of Arvydas)- again slightly less athletic but if we want a kid that knows how to play the game, this would be a good one-year move.

Battled some injuries I think. Plus foul trouble. Watching some more highlights, his defense is pretty bad. Only shot the ball 10+ times in 8 games so he didn't get touches. Valpo had 2 guards that jacked up more shots them him (and both shot 30% from 3 :roll1:)

I'd be happy taking him but the coaching staff may wait for more options. Up to them what they want. I think a Grad-transfer allows more roster flexibility for future.

Rayjon Tucker from Little Rock is grad transferring as reported by Evan Daniels.

Yes, he is a wing but he is also one of the most efficient wings in the country while also owning one of the highest usage rates in the country. This will be a tough pull because everyone is going to want him but we should shoot our shot here.

I'm seeing a lot of good transfers available. Good big man from Bucknell:

Yes.

I just don’t want to reach for the 4th in the class. I don’t see any logic to it.

And I’m on the fence for Diallo.

A solid grad transfer isn’t on the books a long time and can also help right away.

In the end though, I fully trust the coaches.

This is likely the worst roster, by far, that CH will have and he still has his team dancing. Can’t say enough what a solid job that is. Just unreal.

Ohio State has a few scholarships to work with if the right player is available. Holtmann and his staff aren’t in a hurry to get to the scholarship limit of 13, and don’t like having big classes of freshmen, but the key is going to be adding shooting.

It is likely that Ohio State would look to the graduate transfer route for a knockdown shooter if they can. A wing who can really make shots seems like the biggest need area, and it is one that they would like to address before the start of the year.

I don't know if I can trust the idea that you can just get a knockdown shooter through the grad transfer market.

This isn't to slight Keyshawn because he really was instrumental in our last few games but he finished as a 30% 3-pt shooter for us after averaging 40% from 3 between two seasons playing in the ACC.

You might luck out and get one of those rare grad transfers whose game fully translates for you but far more often it seems like the grad transfer's #s usually dip significantly when they're playing for a new team (and often in a different conference). We're looking at this Pierce kid and his shooting percentages weren't even that great this past season at William & Mary (and were abysmal against good teams) in the freakin' Colonial.
