Its the 4 leaf clovers.......

Yeah, we use it at work when a computer issue clears up after starting for no discernible reason.

Back when I worked for DISA, we had a tech who worked with Satellite Comms a lot and he would put into his ticket things like:

"Circuit cleared by PFM."

tough tough loss for the buckeyes. The buckeyes won this game in 5 on 5 hockey. 2:30 min's left to play and boots gets a 5 min major which really decided the game. If the bucks play like they did tonight on Sunday they will get the W.

A shout out to the asshat from CBS who put the camera up on the glass as well. Didn't feel real good when it fell and bashed me in the head.

BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : Michael Arace commentary: OSU hockey must turn foolish penalty into learning tool

Michael Arace commentary: OSU hockey must turn foolish penalty into learning tool, 2-7-09

College hockey's regular season runs through February. Then come conference tournaments, then the NCAA Tournament -- which features an exclusive field of 16. This is worth mentioning because Notre Dame is in town to play Ohio State, and the Irish are ranked No. 2 in the nation and the Buckeyes are No. 15.
The rankings will continue to shake out over the coming weeks, but according to present form, Notre Dame-Ohio State is the equivalent of a first-round NCAA matchup. Adding to the local allure is the presence of Irish defenseman Teddy Ruth, who was a second-round draft pick of the Washington Capitals in 2007 and was acquired by the Blue Jackets for Sergei Fedorov, straight up, at the trade deadline last March.
This game was juiced, and then it exploded in the face of the Buckeyes. Zac Dalpe gave them a 3-2 lead with 2:55 remaining in regulation. Then they lost it. They lost it in the worst way, in a fit of pique, with a stupid penalty. They gave the Irish, possessors of the best power play in the college game, a golden gift.

Was a stupid penalty. What killed me was the tying goal was scored with 1.3 secs left. You could tell it deflated the team and you could also tell Notre Dame was going to win it quick in the OT. Major momentum swing. The penalty may not be done hurting them yet. That win would have went a long way in the polls. Especially if we play well against #4 scUM in a couple of weeks.

HUGE victory today for the young buckeye pucksters. They beat the domers 4-1 to split the series this weekend. They showed this weekend that they can compete and beat anyone.

If you haven't picked up your tickets for the scUM matchup in 2 weeks you better get em. Word has it over 8k tickets have been sold for both games so far.

Dalpe, Albert Lead No. 15 Buckeyes to 4-1 Win over No. 2 Notre Dame

COLUMBUS, Oho ? Boosted by three second-period goals in just over 10 minutes, the No. 15 Ohio State men?s hockey team defeated No. 2 Notre Dame, 4-1, Sunday afternoon in Value City Arena. Sophomore John Albert (1g, 2a) and freshman Zac Dalpe (3a) each had a team-best three points, with linemate Taylor Stefishen adding a goal and an assist.

Notre Dame opened the scoring at 7:44 of the second but the line of Albert, Dalpe and Stefishen scored just 39 seconds later to knot the score. Albert and Dalpe set up a Shane Sims power-play tally at 17:00 to give the Buckeyes the lead and Stefishen finished a play with his linemates at 18:35 to put the Buckeyes up 3-1 after two periods. A Mathieu Picard empty-net goal in the third period sealed the win. Sophomore goalie Dustin Carlson made 32 saves for the Buckeyes in the win.

Ohio State improves to 18-9-3 this year and is 11-8-3 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association standings, tied for fourth with Alaska, two points behind third-place Michigan. The first-place Irish drop to 21-5-3 and 15-4-3-3 in conference action. The teams split the weekend series, after Notre Dame won the opener Friday in overtime, 4-3.

Boots was assessed a five-minute major penalty for spearing and was tossed from the game. His disqualification comes with an automatic one-game suspension, which means he'll miss the rematch Sunday. But that is a distant consideration at this point....

"Selfish play," Ohio State coach John Markell muttered. "Cost us the game."
...
Markell is letting his players handle Boots in the aftermath of last night. They're keeping it "in the room," as they say. No doubt, this is a hard-won lesson for all of them. They won't forget it. That is probably a good thing. One only hopes Boots is man enough to admit his wrong among his peers, and strong enough to make it up to them. March looms, after all.

embrassing, no punishment from the coach. sad.

for those of you who are unfamilar with the spear move..

Hockey: OSU bounces back from tough loss

The Ohio State men's hockey team already had a fractured psyche, the result of losing Friday to second-ranked Notre Dame after being one second from a win.
Falling behind against the Irish early yesterday might have crumbled the young Buckeyes' spirit. It almost happened.

On its first shift, Notre Dame drove the puck deep and took two shots in front of Ohio State goaltender Dustin Carlson. But Carlson kept them out of the goal.

I know that spearing is a really cheap shot but do you really think he should have been punished by Markell. I think that he knows his "selfishness" cost his team the game and I would think that would be punishment enough to have to look at your teammates after the loss.
