Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

If?

edit: It was early in the AM. I've re-read it. Get it. Sorry.
Maybe he meant again?

If Oklahoma can exceed expectations and beat Bama than Ohio State's defense can exceed expectations and put together a solid performance behind four weeks of preparation and intense emotion and energy.

It was early in the morning when I wrote that.

I am feeling cautiously optimistic.

I have a feeling our defense is going to punch them in the fucking mouth tonight. I'm not saying we're shutting them down, but we'll keep Clemson in check and be VERY physical with them. I also think we are going to play keep away and just run it down their throats. I'd like to see a game like our Rose Bowl against Oregon where we just beat them up physically and played keep away (except let's score TD's instead of FG's).

They call that the ole Woody Hayes down at Clemson.

UFM disagrees. He said there's a huge difference between 13-1 and 12-2, and as such there's a huge difference between finishing in the top 5 (and very likely top 3 if we win) and finishing outside the top 10.

You misunderstood me. The win is crucial. But Alabama being ahead of OSU if they win is irrelevant for next year's preseason. People will remember the bowl games and will adjust accordingly.

Ditto for UCF holding the vaunted Baylor offense below its average by enough to win easily. Crazy things can happen in bowl games.

What one man can do, another can do!

Clemson is probably saying the exact same thing though. We're the favored team (even though we sometimes forget/don't feel that way).

Alabama will not be ahead of us if we beat Clemson. If we beat Clemson (and if FSU beats Auburn), the final top four will be:

1. FSU
2. MSU
3. OSU
4. Auburn
