OL Chase Farris (Official Thread)

We are going to need him, along with Carter and Hill to step up and have a stellar game on Saturday. These three guys spelling Hale and Bennett are one of the keys to victory this weekend. The Wisky OL is just too big and physical to not have a consistent rotation of players coming in. Farris (310 lbs.) and Carter (340 lbs) provides us with some big body's who can plug up the middle. I think they each get about 30 plays this weekend, especially on short yardage situations.

Not sure why we didn't see Chase play in the NW game. He certainly did well in the times he has seen the field this year. I think the only two people who spelled the starters in the NW game was Carter and Marcus. Carter held his own and Marcus played stellar in his limited action. Not sure why Chase didn't see the field.

We won the game and stopped the run with the guys we had. Why is it an issue that he didn't play?

Game experience is huge...having some of the 3 and 4 deep get some snaps helps with depth....IMO.... which is a huge for a team with N.C. aspirations...any other questions?
Apparently, the coaches felt winning the game was more important than developing the 3rd and 4th string defensive tackles. Maybe we should let them know what their priorities OUGHT to be.

Maybe they should have thought about winning the game when they are having our 4 and 5 star DB's playing 10 yards off the ball and letting them dink and dunk us down the field the whole first half...i'm not sure that was a "winning" scheme although at the end of the day we won. Getting some spot reps isnt gonna kill our chances of being successful if its done correctly...but i will say that has to be tough in the flow of a big time game like last Saturday night. Honestly though I would like to see us attack a bit more early in the game.

Been drinking much? Geez - Why is it an issue with you that someone asks a simple question about a player who has thus far contributed in a positive way this year. I'm pretty sure he played against Wisconsin and so
it is natural to wonder why he wasn't playing against NW. Nobody is challenging the coaches. It was just an innocent question.

You're right in that my response was probably too brash. Simply put, I felt our D-line was one of the highest performing units on Saturday. I've read so much commentary about why so-and-so didn't play Saturday and I'm like "Heeeellllllo! We won the game! You play. To win. The game!"

No kidding...I was drilled because I wondered why Dontre did not play. No hard feelings though as I understand this is a public forum, and everyone should have an opinion. Just hope that your opinion is not twisted for them to proof their point.

Well, I think if we were in a thread called, "How the coaches won the NW game", we wouldn't ask "Why didn't Chase Farris play?"
but in Chase Farris's thread, where people go to talk about Chase Farris, I would expect to see someone ask this question!
Certainly if his friends and/or family are reading these posts, they are wondering what's up with Chase?

Well, having said all that, I would say that he has been super-impressive changing to the defensive side of the ball. He's not Cameron Heyward (yet) but he seemed to get it real quick.

Nice work, Mr. Farris!
