Tomasello takes 3rd at the US Open...pretty damn impressive, beat Megaludis in quarters and barely lost to Rmoas in what appeared to be some sort of criteria decision. Former Buckeye Nick Hefflin also beat Gabe Dean at 86 KG, then beat Crutchmer and Nickal in consolation to take 3rd, great tourney for him (only lost to David Taylor in a near tech-fall...Taylor is a man possessed right now). In the junior freestyle, OSU commit Malik Heinselman walked through to a 1st place finish, great tournament from him. As mentioned above, Pletcher wins it all as well.

In other news, the Burroughs vs. Dake rematch in the finals will be worth the price of admission.

Well crap, that doesn't help. I really think injuries and weight issues were the only thing keeping him from competing for AA status last season. Not sure what we do there now, might have been why we took Mead...nonetheless, this is a big hit imo.

In a perfect world he would...that would solve everything and allow room for Pletcher to wrestle at 133 and Hayes at 141. But I just see no way he can get back down to that weight. He was having some issues keeping down to 125 his sophomore year and it would be much more difficult to get down after putting the weight back on. I would love to be wrong though.

Based on his interview on the steelwood radio podcast yesterday it will be based on what the international weight classes end up being. If they stay at 57kg and 61kg he will wrestle at 125. If they move to 55kg and 60kg he will wrestle at 133.

That was an interesting interview. I think being in the same RTC with Logan it would be ideal if they could wrestle in different weights at the freestyle level. Logan looked really sucked down at 61kg and I would imagine 60kg would be too much of a cut. Same for Nate at 55kg. I guess we'll find out next fall.
