Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Awesome job by NaTo and Kollin Moore today! Both came back focused and got 3rd. Micah made it to the 3rd place match, so good on him; fourth is about right for him this year. MyMar doesn't need to be ashamed, either. 5th in his first year up a weight. Who would have believed Moore would be pinning his guy for a third-place finish at the beginning of the year? I don't know if Coach Ryan would have believed that.

PSU is already the national champion, even if they lost all five tonight. Suriano probably would have given them a run at the tournament scoring record. I still like the Bucks' chances next year to make a push, but these guys don't miss a beat next year, either.

I think Bo got screwed against Hall, but you've got to give it up to a team that went 5-0 tonight. I couldn't believe Joseph pinned IMar. Crazy momentum, felt like the refs played into it in the Jordan match. What can you do other than tip your hat to Cael and his team? Good job, Bucks, number one at B1G tourney, number two at the NCAA's! Great season, overall. Now get healthy!

I think it was so close. I thought Hall was dead to rights, not many guys can escape that position let alone scramble to the TD

It was close, but I felt like there was deference there for the Lion. The replay made it a little more clear than live action. Hall is very quick and good at the scramble, so you might miss it live, but the replay showed a couple of positions of control. Then, no stalling called. I actually was more upset with the call against Tomasello in the semis against Clark. Up 3-1, he was seconds away from freeing his head for the two, then the quick whistle to stalemate. Nothing went just quite our way this weekend, but that's wrestling sometimes.

Just to put things in the right context, I don't think OSU has ever had 6 AA wrestlers before - we got 5 in 2014. Tom Ryan has taken the team to new heights. Outstanding performances and heck of a job by the guys. Just put things in perspective, PSU is on an unprecedented run right now. You would have to go back to the peak of the Gable years to get something similar and even then I'm not sure those Iowa teams match the raw talent of a 2017 PSU. Until Sanderson decides he wants to do something else, I'm not seeing an end in sight.

Excellent performance overall, although I was really hoping Bo and NaTo could get titles. Other than that, everything went about as what should have been expected of our guys. As everyone else said, PSU is just on an unprecedented run right now, not much else we could have done...we needed a perfect storm and didn't get it, but still did well. Makes the B1G title that much more impressive.

I'm hoping for a healthy season next year because I really do think we could beat PSU if a few things go our way. Great season boys!

A lot of smoke that current Pitt wrestler Teshan Campbell is transferring to OSU to fill the 165 hole. He went 2-2 at NCAA's with losses to Valencia & Hughes (MSU). If that's true then White is not coming to OSU. Campbell was also ACC champ at 165.

I'm not seeing this as that "big" upgrade at 165. Hopefully Teshan proves me wrong

He confirmed via his social media account (shown inside the WPIAL account)

Pretty nice pick up imo. Not a massive upgrade but he'll win some matches in the tournament. There were questions on White anyways...if he can win a few matches next year, that's an immediate upgrade over Burcher and we have everyone back at the other spots.

Ohio State recruits went 1-1 in the Pittsburgh Classic. Bethlehem Catholic’s Michael Labriola (166-12), a Nebraska recruit and two-time PIAA Class 3A champ. Labriola recorded a takedown with 39 seconds left to pull out a 3-2 victory over Kaleb Romero (202-3), an Ohio State recruit and four-time Ohio champ from Mechanicsburg High School. At 220 Chase Singletary (137-7), an Ohio State recruit and two-time National Prep School champ from Blair Academy, registered a 7-3 win over Cole Nye (159-27).
