Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Looked like a rib. He was definitely in pain.

The more you know:

Heavyweight Kyle Snyder, a defending NCAA and Olympic champion, grabbed his left side during a 13-7 quarterfinal victory over Minnesota's Michael Kroells and labored through the final period when he started in the down position.

He told The Dispatch that he'd sustained a rib injury in Thursday night's second-round match and aggravated it against Kroells.

"I just hurt my rib a little bit yesterday, but it's all good," Snyder. "No big deal.

"I just have to wrestle the best you can with what you've got, so I still feel good. I feel really good on my feet. I was moving well. So there are a lot of positives as well."

Buckeyes coach Tom Ryan said rib injuries are particularly difficult because wrestlers rely so much on their core muscles. Snyder is undersized for a heavyweight as it is.

"You don't want it as a 224-pound heavyweight," Ryan said. "It's not something that's ideal for sure. He's going to wrestle.

"It's extremely painful. You can wrestle with it, but it's extremely painful."

Ryan said he told Snyder it'd be fine with him if he withdrew to avoid further injury.

"I told him he didn't have to wrestle," Ryan said. "He wants to. He didn't even flinch when I suggested that."

Micah lost in the quarters, Pletcher lost to PSU's Gullibon in the wrestle-backs; we might have a chance at a victory if we get four champions, but I still see Nickal going lights out, so I'm predicting three Lion championships. Bucks in solid shape for second-place. Not too shabby! Come on, Bucks!

We cannot keep up with the huge bonus points PSU is putting up. That was fear all along. I hope Kyle can go tonight but you cannot blame him if he defaults out. The kid is giving it his all in every match.

Bo apparently re-injured his foot in the match with Meyer.

At this point, while I won't root for our guys to lose, we just have to hope this adds fuel to their fire for next year.

No one seems 100% healthy this time of year but:
We know 125 JR is injured
133 NT just lost
Hayes back at 141 and Pletcher to redshirt
Micah knows he needs to work stronger on bottom
Ryan supposedly has been working all year with an injury according to his dad's tweet
Bo's foot hasn't been right all year
Myles can't be happy

Nato was the aggressor the entire match but in those scrambles you cannot let the other guy get that inside leg in because it's technically control and 2 points. Give Clark credit, he learned from the last match. Nato is looking good to place 3rd. Bo... that was a comeback for the ages. Huge effort to win but Realbuto wrestled stupid the last 30 seconds - all he needed to do was belly out. Bo will need to start faster against Hall tomorrow. Myles has wrestled tough in the consolation round. He gets Brooks tomorrow and I don't like that match-up. He'll need to do something radically different to get a win. Moore... great effort and great season. Exactly what I said yesterday, he would need to find a way to win without a 6 point move and he just ran out of gas. I like him to get 3rd as well. Kyle... wow. Hell of an effort against someone that wanted to take him down. I like Kyle tomorrow in a 6-3 type match to win it all. Micah has done a good job of coming back and I see him to getting 4th.

Penn St. may end up getting 140 points tomorrow. I don't think anyone saw that coming without Suriano. With Suriano they may have broken the all time record. Credit their kids who were intent on getting pins and not simple decisions.

Yeah, you have to give PSU credit. Pulled Hall's redshirt, and he beats the 1-seed. Nickal is pinning his way through the tourney. Vincent, Nevills, they are just impressive. We really peaked in the B1G tourney, so awesome job by the Bucks to get a meaningful championship this year! I agree with you, Delaware....Let's get a 5th from MyMar, 3rds from the consolation guys, and two championships. You've got to figure Bo and Snyder are favorites to win, but both will have battles for different reasons. Bo is just so much bigger and stronger than Hall, I hope he asserts himself a little bit more than at the B1G tourney.

Bo's best strategy will be to keep Hall off his legs (easier said than done) and wear Hall out from top. If he does that effectively I think he can win a 6-5 type match. But I don't see a blowout win/loss either way

This is not an easy sport to dominate but Nolf is so far ahead of everyone else and he's making division 1 wrestlers look silly. The move that Retherford put on Sorenson yesterday was downright painful - he erased all doubt about him being vulnerable.
