Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Really nice get, #4 at 160 on FloWrestling. He's kept improving every year and I think he has more room to grow and really improve at the next level. And for those who might not know, Mechanicsburg is really close to St. Paris Graham out in Champaign County and is coached by one of Graham's finest ex-wrestlers in Cameron Doggett. Look forward to seeing him wrestle.

It’s been a great two days of recruiting for Tom Ryan and Ohio State. Yesterday, three-time Ohio champ Kaleb Romero committed to wrestle for Ohio State.

Today, #1 Chase Singletary informed Ohio State he’d be heading to Columbus as well.

The top ranked 220 in the country chose Ohio State over Cornell and UNC. He is the highest ranked wrestler to commit since Spencer Lee verballed to Iowa this Spring. Singletary is the #5 overall recruit for the class of 2017 (Check out Senior Big Board Here).

“There is a lot of big stuff happening at Ohio State,” Singletary said. “And I want to be a part of it.”

For Ohio State, Chase coming on board is perfect timing. Kyle Snyder has two more years for Ohio State. This allows Chase to take a redshirt year, bulk up to 285, then take the reins once Kyle graduates.

It's odd to say this given the 3rd place finish but he looked a little tired at 125 last year late. Perhaps the bump in weigh will allow him to remain fresher and a more natural weight.

According to the OSU website this must be our 125 as he is the only one listed at that weight:
Jose Rodriguez 125 RS FR Massillon, Ohio (Massillon Perry)

Getting Singletary is huge for a number of reasons. First is just pure talent, this kid is simply as good as it gets...incredibly quick and swift on his leg attacks and low finishes, very Snyder-esque in that regard. Second, he continues to get bigger and taking over at heavy for Snyder when he leaves is possible...plus he gets to work out with him for a year. Finally, he is the first Blair Buccaneer that I am aware of to come here. Usually Blair kids go Ivy League, occasionally *ichigan or Iowa.

Only caveat to this might be saying goodbye to Gable Steveson, but you simply don't ever pass on a Chase Singletary.

I like Toms at 133, he was gassed at 125. But it will leave a hole at 125, Rodriguez would be lucky to go .500 next year imo.

Eight Ohio State wrestlers appear in the top 16 of their weight classes in Intermat's preseason rankings, released Tuesday, including four ranked in the top three and two ranked No. 1.

Junior Kyle Snyder, fresh off winning an NCAA championship and the youngest American wrestler to ever win a gold medal in the Olympics, is to the surprise of nobody, Intermat's top-ranked heavyweight. Joining Snyder as a No. 1 in Intermat's rankings is fellow junior Bo Jordan, slated to compete at 174 pounds this season following two consecutive third place finishes at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championships.

Super 32 went down recently and is likely the toughest high school wrestling tourney in the country (mostly due to how many matches you have to win to even place, the brackets are HUGE) and Ohio fared fairly well. OSU target and Graham Falcon Mitch Moore took runner up at 132, which is huge. Corey Shie of Colerain took 3rd at 138, bit of a surprise but great result. Connor Brady of Olentangy Liberty took 5th at 145. Jaden Mattox took 4th at 152. All guys that will likely get looks from OSU.
