Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

I think Jesse Owens might have something to say about that.
Really Bro? Seriously, what would he say?

I posted that Logan's win tonight puts him right there with Archie with what they accomplished "AT THE" OHIO FUCKING STATE UNIVERSITY! What in the hell did Jesse Owens EVER do in scarlet and grey that puts him in that company?

I'll make this real simple, so you can understand it:

Archie Griffin- only man ever to win two Heisman Trophies
Logan Stieber-4th man to ever win 4 National Titles in Wrestling

Now go waste your time GOOGLE- searching, which indeed it will be. No dis on Jesse, he was a great Olympic Champion, but his track feats HERE have been done by many more in the history of college track and field athletics.

What really blows me away is that 2 other people actually liked your post?

BTW, Jack Nicklaus would have been a better "have something to say" argument.

(No) Peace

A ton to say after such an incredible ride the past few days. First off, Kenny Courts was a major factor and a ton of thanks to him for being such a champion and fighting back in matches all week...he was an essential cog when nobody, including myself, expected him to be. Second, Coach Ryan had a vision for success, never deviated, and once again got guys to peak at the right time...incredible coaching job and the future is incredibly bright here with him as coach. Third, a shout out to Hunter Stieber and Nick Tavanello...both were hurt very, very badly and still tried to gut out some wins to get team points. Both could have decided to save face but both wanted to help the team. True hearts of champions even though they could not pull off wins.

Finally, and most importantly, I really hope everyone has enjoyed Logan Stieber as I have. His run to 4 titles has been nothing short of amazing and he is one of the best Buckeye athletes we have had the privilege to watch (now reading the above, please do not get into a trite debate about the best athletes at Ohio State and just enjoy the fact that each of them has donned the scarlet and gray...they were all great). I would not be shocked to see "Gold Medalist" next to his name in the near future, he is that incredible. I remember counseling camps and "coaching" him when he was younger. Our camp had three-a-day practices that were absolutely grueling, mentally and physically. We would eat around noon after an exhausting regimen and he always scarfed his food down quickly and left...we realized he was just getting the food down as quickly as possible so he could go shadow drill in the room by himself, or drill with Hunter. He was 12 then. That is how dedicated Logan has been to being a champion for so long and he deserves every bit of the fruits of his labor that has come his way. Not only that but wrestling is an individual sport where it is easy to lose sight of the team. Logan put the team on his back this week and was an exemplary Buckeye that wanted nothing more than to see a team title brought back to Columbus for the first time...I'm just in awe of his leadership and man will I miss watching him in the S&G.

Everyone knows in this thread how much I love wrestling and Buckeye wrestling in particular. To me, I am just as pumped about this as I was about the football championship. Maybe even moreso than football because this is our first wrestling title and man was it earned. Watching this team all year and keeping faith that we could pull it off in March was nothing short of breathtaking. Congrats to each and every wrestler on this team, from the varsity to the every guy in the room that made the other man better. A hard earned title and I will be enjoying this one all the way until November. GO BUCKS!

Thankfully I did waste my time googling, because this sure was interesting:
Owens won a record eight individual NCAA championships, four each in 1935 and 1936. (The record of four gold medals at the NCAA was equaled only by Xavier Carter in 2006, although his many titles also included relay medals.)

Owens's greatest achievement came in a span of 45 minutes on May 25, 1935, during the Big Ten meet at Ferry Field in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he set threeworld records and tied a fourth. He equaled the world record for the 100 yard dash(9.4 seconds); and set world records in the long jump (26 ft 8 1⁄4 in or 8.13 m, a world record that would last 25 years); 220-yard (201.2 m) sprint (20.3 seconds); and 220-yard (201.2m) low hurdles (22.6 seconds, becoming the first to break 23 seconds). In 2005, University of Central Florida professor of sports history Richard C. Crepeau chose these wins on one day as the most impressive athletic achievement since 1850.

Edit: Oh, also you technically stated "greatest ahtlete ever at THE Ohio State University," which is much different than what you posted above of"what they accomplished 'AT THE' OHIO FUCKING STATE UNIVERSITY." could be interpreted both ways quite easily.

Well, that was an unnecessary (and incorrect) rant.

Let's just say Logan's in some great company among Buckeye legends.

Jesse Owens set three world records while at Ohio State. Now go blow it out your ass with your pompous post.

Now on to Logan Stieber. He accomplished what only a few in the history of his sport have done and many kudos to him. A true champion.

Ummmm, there's only one non-Michigan athlete whose name is emblazoned on an athletic facility at Micgigan... http://mvictors.com/WordPress/images/2009/jesse_owens_ferry_field.jpg

Looks like you should mind the quote beneath your avatar before you act like a little kid on a message board. Never mind that you can't find someone that owned 4 world records in T&F after participating in a single meet (let alone the fact that he wore an Ohio State singlet while doing it).

Greatest 45 minutes ever in sports

It still looks like a misprint.

Four world records in three-quarters of an hour. Not 45 weeks or 45 days but 45 minutes.

Seventy-five years ago Tuesday, at the 1935 Big Ten Track and Field Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., Jesse Owens didn't rewrite the record book -- he tore it up.

In less than an hour, the 21-year-old Ohio State sophomore tied the world record in the 100-yard dash and then set the world record in the long jump, the 220-yard dash and the 220 low hurdles.....

I'd say that probably classifies as a pretty amazing day. Awesome to think that these guys all achieved greatness in their respective sport while donning scarlet and gray. I guess we can call each other names and argue about which feat is most impressive, or just relish in the fact that Ohio and Ohio State has an amazing athletic history, and hopefully an equally amazing future.
