Well in my opinion this was a huge wasted opportunity for the Buckeyes today. This is not a game plan that we will be executing against better teams and the fact that we threw the ball as much as we did in my opinion accomplishes nothing when it doesn't practice the tempo and the play selection that we are going to need in the future. We took our starters out Midway through the second quarter which I think is a little early.
I think we all know the reason why Dwayne Haskins isn't the starting quarterback as well because while he's shows major promise and extreme arm Talent you can tell on a few of his throws he really trust his arm a little too much right now.
I'm very disappointed in our back up defense as well with the fact that we could not control the line of scrimmage with our deep defensive line. That team should have never scored one touchdown and we let them have two subtracting the Pick 6.
Overall this should have been a game that we came away from with great confidence, great rhythm, and more importantly practiced the game plans that we are going to need to win the Big Ten.
I think the only thing we probably should have done differently all game was leave the starters in until halfway through the 3rd. The game just felt so disjointed and choppy because of the backups being in for the majority of the game. I understand that they need wraps but I am not a fan of wholesale changes that early in a game.
On the bright side JT looks strong, Dobbins looked like the player we have come to know, our receivers were awesome, our dline truly lived five yards deep into the backfield, and bottom line we were playing the ball well in the air minus Kendall Sheffield.
Speaking of which I really think there is an issue there with Kendall and perhaps we are seeing why he could not get on the field at Alabama. It is early yet and maybe he will grow into his role but right now teams are finding him and going down field because they know they'll either complete it or they'll get a pass interference
