I understand they'll try him as an adult and there will be no plea bargain - it's going to trial.

However, is it true that they can't hand out the death penalty to someone under the age of 18 even though being charged as an adult? That's what I had heard and I don't know the judicial system well enough to comment on it. I reckon if that's the case he'll just spend life in prison...

You are correct. In Ohio, no minor that is tried as an adult may receive the death penalty.

On a side note, I had a kid today write a note that said "Give me my money" with a stick figure holding a gun, shooting another stick figure. Our school is located less than 30 minutes from Chardon. Kids just don't get it. Sadly, the only real punishment he received was me going nuts on him as we walked to the principal's office.

T.J. Lane's a real outlaw: gun down defenseless people and wear a "Killer" t-shirt when he already pleaded guilty.

I hope he enjoys prison.

T.J. Lane sentenced to life in prison in Chardon High School shootings

.../snip/...

Before his sentence, Lane, wearing a white T-shirt with the word "Killer" written across the front, gave a short statement, some of it unintelligible. He ended with, "F--- all of you," then raised his middle finger toward the victims' family members.

Geauga County Common Pleas Judge David Fuhry sentenced Lane for the slayings of Daniel Parmertor, 16; Demetrius Hewlin, 16; and Russell King Jr., 17, in a rampage that has tortured a small town and its students for the past year.

Lane sat silently as the sentence was read.

He later gave only this statement: "This hand that pulled the trigger that killed your sons now masturbates to the memory. F--- all of you."

What a vile little creature.

And he'll be isolated in prison (for his own protection). So any sort of "justice" is unlikely in the near future (it will eventually come, I'm guessing).

I'm just shocked someone in the victim's families didn't go nuts when he cursed at them and flicked them off at the sentencing hearing.

This is why it's a joke that we outlaw cruel and unusual punishment. If anyone deserves to be stoned to death it's this little fuck.

It would probably deter some people from committing crimes if they knew they would physically suffer for it.

If I were a family member of one of the victims in that courtroom and I heard him say those words, no police officer or judge in the world would keep me from getting at least one solid lick in on that little piece of shit. Just sad.

Where were the parents? When kids go bad, I want to know.
It's just a tragedy on all sides. There is no "justice". Only suffering. Prison won't "fix" this.
Same with the Steubenville kids.
Where were the f**kin parents?

There is one fix, and the parents should be charged for the expended round.

Jail should be for rehabilitation. This kid is so far beyond rehabilitation that I am very offended that my tax dollars will in part be paid for his care.
