There is no doubt that this murderer should be dealt with in the strongest manner permitted by the Constitution. However, as evil as he is, I refuse to ratify the taking of ANY human life in the name of retribution, deterrence, or punishment. We, as a society, live by a moral code that is clearly not subscribed to by this young man. On a moral level, I simply cannot countenance the concept of lowering 11 million Ohioans to his level of depravity.
Some responsibilities belong to God, not to mankind itself.
The Death Penalty is clearly defined as legal in the Constitution with due process. I guess our morals are just different here and that's perfectly ok. However, it's a good thing they caught him before he killed anyone else with the pitchfork they found him with. Too bad he didn't come up against an armed citizen.
