There is no doubt that this murderer should be dealt with in the strongest manner permitted by the Constitution. However, as evil as he is, I refuse to ratify the taking of ANY human life in the name of retribution, deterrence, or punishment. We, as a society, live by a moral code that is clearly not subscribed to by this young man. On a moral level, I simply cannot countenance the concept of lowering 11 million Ohioans to his level of depravity.

Some responsibilities belong to God, not to mankind itself.

The Death Penalty is clearly defined as legal in the Constitution with due process. I guess our morals are just different here and that's perfectly ok. However, it's a good thing they caught him before he killed anyone else with the pitchfork they found him with. Too bad he didn't come up against an armed citizen.

Equally offended, but the little twat isn't worth the time, money, or energy that would be required to execute his sorry ass, IMO.

I'd front the money for a bullet, 30 seconds of paid police time, and a not very strenuous trigger pull by said offcier should do the trick.

My neighbor two doors down, who is an ex-marine and current local firefighter was sitting in his garage, which was open with the lights off, and armed.

While watching out my window I overhear him and his spouse loudly discussing his methods. Shortly after she left the house, with their child I assumed.

I have nothing against the death penalty, but to me, life in prison (as long as it really means LIFE) would be far worse if it was me. Putting a bullet in him is too quick and too easy. Let him sit for 60 whatever years he has left...

Maybe this should go into the political forum, but has anyone seen "Escape from New York" or that Ray Liotta movie where the prisoners were sent to live on an island? I'm not saying that New York should be the prison, but maybe wall off a huge area or island and keep the prisoners there. Inside, do what you want - find your own food, do whatever - we don't care. But don't try to get out or you get a flame-thrower shoved up your ass, and you don't get down until you quit squirming or there's no more fuel.

Australia turned out ok.
