Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Hmmmmm, I'm certainly in Michigan's corner for this fight, but their run defense doesn't seem so important against a pass-happy Trojan team. They have the kind of receivers that can create big plays. Taking away their half-assed running game doesn't accomplish much. If they can protect their own Booty, USC will give this Michigan team a rough way to go.

On the other hand, Hart, Henne and Michigan's receivers will eat up a good deal of clock and put plenty of points on the board against any West Coast defense... (If West Coast Offense is going to be the name for the dink-it-off-to-the-guys-underneath passing game, why can't we use West Coast Defense for the "Ole, take-a-swipe-at-the-runner-and-hope-he-falls-down" defensive play of Pac 10 teams?)

Quinn sounds a lot like a spoiled child
December 26, 2006

I got a hoot out of Brady Quinn's recent whine about Notre Dame being disrespected because few are giving the Irish much of a chance to beat LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

Is he serious? Please, tell me Brady is kidding.

Kentucky just won their first bowl in 22 years, so add them to the list.

Since there apparently aren't too many teams who haven't won a bowl since Jan 1st 1994, I thought I'd list some of them.

B10: Northwestern and Indiana (haven't been to a bowl since '93)
SEC: Vanderbilt
ACC: Duke
B12: Baylor
P10: nobody
BE: nobody

BE: South Florida (joined DIA in 2001)

South Florida won a bowl game last Saturday. The other 5 are the only schools from the 6 automatic qualifying BCS conferences without a bowl win since ND's last bowl victory.

Weis discusses nature of ND as Sugar Bowl nears

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Charlie Weis rubbed his chin with his right hand, making sure that everyone could see his glittering, gaudy Super Bowl ring.

So that's what Notre Ame has become? If you want to play on Sunday, then come and play for us??

Are you kidding me? The funny thing is Weis isn't shy about it. That's what he's selling. Isn't it great that the thing that lures recruits to Ohio State is what Coach Tressel sells them? Education and life after football. The last thing they talk about is football.

I couldn't hate a team more than I hate Notre Ame
