They have all won at least ONE bowl game since Notre Lame's last bowl victory.... 13 years ago.

Some more thoughts on the NoD Bowl streak and stuff:

-In another 4 years (the kids in the 2011 recruiting class) if the streak is still alive they will be recruiting HS SR's who will have never had NoD win a Bowl game in their lifetime.

-They did break one streak this year. Brady Quinn was the first Domer to win a major CFB award since...yes 1993 when Aaron "head" Taylor won the Lombardi.

NoD's Bowl futility since the 1993 season(1/1/94 Cotton Bowl win)
1994 Fiesta Bowl L 41-21
1995 Orange Bowl L 31-26 (actually a close one!!)
1996 No Bowl
1997 Independence Bowl L 27-9
1998 Gator Bowl L 28-35 (another single digit L)
1999 No Bowl
2000 Oregon State L 41-9
2001 No Bowl
2002 Gator Bowl L 28-6
2003 No Bowl
2004 Insight Bowl L 38-21
2005 Fiesta Bowl L 34-20
2006 Sugar Bowl L 41-14

Overall record: 0-9
Total scores: 281-161
Avg score: 31-18

Team record since 1993:
1994: 6-5-1
1995: 9-3
1996: 8-3
1997: 7-6
1998: 9-3
1999: 5-7
2000: 9-3
2001: 5-6
2002:10-3
2003: 5-7
2004: 6-6
2005: 9-3
2006: 10-3

-13 years and nothing better than a 3 loss season
-3 losing seasons
-5 seasons with 4 or more losses
-.614 win % during that span good for 33rd in all of CFB

Some teams with a better win % than ND since 1994:
(I'll leave out the big boys since the Domers obviously can't compare themselves to elite programs anymore)

Marshall .734
K State .731
Toledo .713
Boise State .693
Miami Ohio .676
Utah .669
Colorado State .659
Southern Miss .626
Air Force .625
Louisville .622
Virginia .619
BYU .617
TCU .617

Besides a NoD Bowl Victory, some other newsworthy events from 1994:
-Kurt Cobain sucks on a shotgun
-Forrest Gump is released
-Nancy Kerrigan gets whacked in the leg
-OJ and Al go for a ride in the Bronco

Yeah cuz it was really his fault that Weis doesn't give a crap about the defense...riiiight.
Given the porous nature of the Irish Pass Defense these last two years I'd have to say Minter bears the brunt of the blame. He is the coach with primary responsibility for developing those players, in which area he has under-performed.

Just goes to show you that consistency just doesn't count for much anymore...

I'm not saying he isn't responsible, or even that he didn't deserve to be fired. I like Minter, but whatever, if he can't do the job, fine. But if Weis maybe paid a little more attention to defensive oversight instead of instituting yet another triple end-around, or creating a 12th fake punt that won't work, or holding the Golden Boy's hand while painstakingly going over the nuances of a 4 yard curl for him to overthrow, maybe the defense would have been a little better.

If Charlie Weis gave defense the attention he gave his last Twinkie, well, with that and two weeks...? :slappy:

Why do they need a QB coach when Weis is a self-professed QB guru?
