exactly. the offense just moved better as a whole with him in. the running backs gained more yards, the receivers were open more and the line blocked better. it was a total momentum shift when crist went out. i think that the irish would have won had he played the entire game. as for the game that happened, this loss was completely on kelly for not kicking the field goal at the end of the first half. they could have tied it up at the end.

Not completely true. Montana led a nice drive at the end of the half and he wasn't the one that made the decision to forgo the fieldgoal.

we will outscore MSU and Stanford. these team have no defenses whatsoever.

We will outscore Pitt and stuff their running game. last year Tenuta had our LB's running right past the delayed draws and screens.

USC will be a total disaster under Kiffen. Barkely is not as good as advertised and will not develope under Kiffen. USC is also sporting a young Safety and lack experience and leadership. Monty Kiffen may have been a great defensive mind... but he is new to the Spread and Kelly will disect them all day.


I think you guys are forgetting our special teams is going to be very good with a proven kicker and a finally healthy punter. Depth is proven with excellent special teams and we have that.


Crist is very smart, and perfect for this offense. He will pass for 4000 yards this year. Forget all that nonsense about him being a first year starter... 2 years under Weis, a great offensive mind in Kelly... Crist should have a PHD in QB-ology.


Plus, I dont think we are going to waste our time in playing Hughes at RB.

Offense should average 45ppg.
