Besides the other stuff mentioned in the article that is wrong they also got wrong the part about Kelly leaving Central Michigan before their bowl game. If I remember right he coached Central Michigan to a win in their bowl game and thne the next day let to coach Cincy in their bowl game
Naw, he left early. Most of his staff stayed and coached CMU in their bowl game, then joined Kelly and Cinci for their bowl game.

Clausen, Tate entering NFL Draft

Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen decides to enter draft - ESPN

Well, this isn't any surprise since Weis is out, but it's a shame nevertheless. I was really impressed with the way Tate stepped up his game this year when Floyd got injured. He was an average receiver that had some speed before this year. He really turned into a playmaker that was fun to watch. Would have loved to see these guys give it one more year, but with the coaching situation this had to be coming.

It's a shame for the Irish, but they are too good to stay...little to gain at this point.

Clausen still needs a good hair style.

So, going on the idea that the offense wasn't the problem.
Was it coaching or recruiting on the defensive side? Or both?

And even with a crappy defense, if Floyd and Rudolph aren't lost, they go Bowling and Charlie sticks aroumd for a few.

Maybe.

They had Floyd for the end of season losing streak and it didn't seem to matter....

Just like when scUM hire DickRod, that's fine with me. An arrogant prick coaching a school I despise. Interesting that despite losing games on defense ND goes with another guy who thinks defense will just take care of itself.

Kelly has gotten flustered the last few days during interviews, losing patience with reporters. Just wait until he loses a game at ND. He's never had to deal with that level of scrutiny in his prior jobs, including Cinci.

Yeah, the beginning of that schedule is always a bit of a bitch, while the 2nd half is much easier sans USC. As far as using a freshman, are you referring to the QB position? If Dayne Crist heals up from the knee injury, he should be good to go. He moved the ball pretty good when he spelled Clausen during the turf toe injury, he's more mobile too.
