Aside from USC, Boston College is a loss. Despite BC losing Matt Ryan and others last year, the Irish lose to BC even more often than MSU. I think they've beaten BC one year since '93, God favors the other Catholic university.
As far as the other games, I think they've be competitive. I wouldn't call Pitt a loss, they've played about as many competitive teams as the Irish. They lost to Bowling Green and beat Iowa by 1. Wannstedt has yet to field a great team in his 4 years back at Pitt.
I'm not sure I would categorize Washington as a win either. They've played a pretty tough schedule, but they're still 0-4. That team's feeling pretty deflated right now. Willingham may be able to get this team into the win column, but he hasn't exactly been the savior of their program yet.
North Carolina is in the same boat as Pitt, similar schedule and one loss. They dropped one to Virginia Tech who has looked okay, and beat a rebuilding Miami team, nothing else of note.
I'm not saying any of these games won't be losses, I think they'll be close. Pitt is at home, so I would favor the Irish there. Washington may be close, but I think Ty chokes again. Not sure about North Carolina, I think it'll be competitive. Stanford beat Oregon State and Washington, but dropped one to TCU, so who knows.
