Notre Dame has been moving like slugs with a resolution to the academic investigation. Reports that the investigation wrapped up in late August, however they're just getting to the hearings for the students and athletes involved this week. The players have been fairly mum when it comes to criticizing the process (Except for Davaris Daniels and his father), now KeiVarae Russell has spoken out. By his account he seems to be innocent on his side, although the committee could certainly see it differently and hand down some punishment. At this point the players have missed 4 games already, and their hearings were pushed back multiple times because professors involved in the process rescheduled.

Over the years there's often been comments that there are members of the faculty and administration that try to undermine football related activities and would like nothing more than to see the football program go away. Professors have been known to comment how traffic on game day Saturdays makes it difficult to get to the library and other campus locations, among other complaints. Requests from certain professors to delay the hearings has been seen as part of that movement to undermine the program.

Russell's hearing was last night and he sounds confidant he was in the clear. Eilar Hardy and Ishaaq Williams will be before the committee tonight, followed by Davaris Daniels and Kendall Moore Friday. Final rulings won't happen until all 5 players have appeared before the committee, making it unlikely that they'll play against Stanford making it a 5th missed game. There's also some speculation that other students involved may push the ruling back till next week or later. There's also an appeals process if the players decide to go that route.

Overall there's been a lot of criticism directed toward the Office of General Consul for taking over a month and a half to get the hearings done. Whatever final rulings come down, whether players are all guilty, innocent, or only some are found guilty, it's going to look bad for Notre Dame. The amount of time taken for due process will reflect negatively on the University, more so for any students or players that may be found not guilty. It certainly will affect recruiting, I can't imagine future players would enjoy being in limbo with limited contact regarding their cases when they see guys like Jameis Winston receiving swift one game suspensions and resolutions.

Don't want to be made fun of by the Stanford band? Don't play Stanford. That is just pure fucking domer arrogance in their howls of manufactured outrage that nobody must dare make fun of them in any way. Next time those assholes go to Stanford, I hope the band turns their dials to 11 and goes after the real issues: dead students, sexual assaults and systemic academic fraud.

With all the Michigan Man bullshit going on, I almost lost sight of the fact of how exponentially worse the domers are with regards to arrogance, self-righteousness and hypocrisy.
