they had an excuse (not a good one).
by switching conferences, they lost a conference game.
and when they couldn't get Texas to fill that extra OOC slot, they had to scramble and take what they could get.
which was a FCS school even though they already had one on their schedule.
Poor planning on their part, so it's a shitty excuse.
I have no idea what's Bama's reasoning for doing it.
personally, I wish scheduling FCS was completely outlawed.
it pisses me off to no end that as an LSU fan that attends a lot of games, that we don't get better OOC teams to see.
And when we do schedule them, they're at "neutral" sites.
2010 we played North Carolina in Atlanta
2011 Oregon in Dallas
2013 TCU in Dallas
2014 Wisconsin (still in discussion. potentially in Houston, Dallas, or Green Bay)
