Next Generation Console News: Xbox One, PS4, Wii U

That's ok.. Why do you think I have a raspberry pi hooked up to my TV upstairs, with a 2 TB hometheater computer in the basement pushing my media? XBONE IS 4 n00bs.

But seriously, if people are spending $100 more for a lesser game console because it does other things besides play games.. More power to them. I'll hang on to my $30 Raspberry Pi with XBMC.

As more keeps coming out, the differences between the two, in game at least, will be minimal. The difference in price comes with more peripherals where the price would almost even up if you purchased similar peripherals. The choice between the new consoles will have the most to do with exclusive titles, previous loyalties, etc... Of course you could keep your blueberry cake and an average hard drive in your basement for movies. Then, hop on to call other people n00bs.

Knocking my media tower in the movie theather is one thing, but if you don't know about the raspberry pi I highly recommend it - it's pretty slick with XBMC on it. The current set up is a movie theather basement (I posted pics on BP a few years ago), 3 TVs in the main room of my condo (2 have PS3s and the other is strictly
For SNES & N64 -- really only because it's a hassle to move the third one and I had space for it on the opposite wall -- the 2 TVs is for 'dual screening' online games with my roommate and so my girlfriend can watch whatever she wants if I'm playing GTA) & then the Pi streams all available media to my TV in the bedroom. They're about $35, HDMI out, ethernet, USB & microUSB for the power. Computer the size of a credit card.

As for the topic, I agree with your last post - by & large their won't be a big difference if any at all. Similar to this generation.

A key pillar of the Call of Duty experience has always been rock-solid 60 frames per seconds gameplay. On Xbox 360, Ghosts maintains this mandate. The PlayStation 4 version, however, has noticeable technical issues, sometimes slowing to a crawl, particularly during set-piece moments with multiple effects. One specific moment I was able to replicate multiple times on PS4 was a campaign scene that ran smoothly on Xbox 360 and PS3, while the game chugged On PlayStation 4. These frame rate hitches happen throughout the campaign on PS4 and, in a series known for its Hollywood-inspired bombast, it detracted from the experience.

1080 doesn't always mean better if you can't keep the framerate up
