Game Thread Nebraska at tOSU, Sat. Oct. 26, 12pm ET, FOX

I never want us to lose, however, I cannot understand how anyone who watched this awful performance against such an inferior opponent could not think we have a serious problem on our hands.
That right there is the issue. Nebraska is 5 and 2. They aren’t elite but they may not have been as “shit” as us fans thought. Who knows. We expect to obliterate every team and if we don’t, fire everyone or we suck or ( insert gripe here). Was this performance bad, yeah not so great. Did we win, yep. Is there a problem, always a problem with every team in football. No teams unbeatable, this year especially. The Bucks just need to refocus and find a LT. A win is a win. I’m happy about that and look forward to the game next week vs PSU.

What a game.

First off I owe another apology. Without going into too much after the Oregon game I’ve now been sober for 2 weeks.

Oddly enough not drinking during games heavily allows me to stay calm and think rationally. I know at this point my apologies are an annual tradition but once again I’m sorry. It should stick this time considering I’ve given up the booze completely.

On to the game.

1. Obvious struggles with the OL- I think we need to put Jackson out there. Zen was just overpowered all game. I really wish we had been a bit more aggressive in the portal to give ourselves some options. Smith from Indiana for example would be nice right about now.

2. Was anyone else hearing a whistle when Nebraska was on offense? I swear I heard it consistently. Sounded like the play was being blown dead but then nothing.

3. Defense- I loved the way we played today. Saw tons of different fronts and brought lots of pressure. The secondary really needs to work on not taking penalties and we’ll have to learn to spy the QB more but otherwise the offense put our defenses feet to the fire all day.

4. Offense- just do what works. I know they’re trying to get the run game figured out but it was clear that wasn’t happening today. At some point you just have to do whatever scores.

5. Special teams- can we make any kind of explosive play? Man it’d be nice to get a spark with a return touchdown or something at some point or have good field position at a minimum. Of course the other teams kicker has a career day lol.

I swear quarterbacks and kickers of other teams always come through in Ohio Stadium.

But hey it could be far worse. We likely should’ve lost that game so at least we are still alive!
Congrats about the very wise decision you made. Proud of you brother!

I am having problems, Will Howard is a decent QB. I do not think he has done anything terribly wrong so far this season. So, this is his last year, who is taking the reins? Devin is an ok backup, air needs work. What happens next?
Just have to worry about that after this year. Hopefully we address the OL in the portal and then maybe Simmons comes back.

Lots of ball left this year and this team isn’t dead yet

There's obviously a serious problem on the OL. At this point injuries at LT and TE have lowered the ceiling of the offense significantly. There's nothing to do but watch and see if someone steps up.

We should all readjust our expectations of winning by a lot until it's figured out.

I have two problems:
1. Ryan Day isn’t beating the allegations
2. Everybody knew the o-line was a problem from top to bottom last year, the offseason, and to start the season - coaching, talent, ability, strength, mobility, depth, recruiting, performance. The only hope was Chip Kelly’s scheme would mask the issues. Not one thing was done at any point to bolster the o-line. You can’t just pick up a free agent mid season. This was obvious to the most casual of fan, especially after the bowl game last year. Again, Ryan Day isn’t beating the allegations.
