Does anyone have a breakdown of what the differences will be between the systems? I have a Wii, and wonder if it will suck compared to the 360 and PS3, other than the obvious things such as graphics

Yeah, the Wii version will suck (supposedly). This is going by memory of what the Wii game will have and no actual reports. It will be very arcadish and targeted towards younger players. That is where the Mascot games are targeted and why the Wii cover is a mascot. But the Wii version will have something called "family" play too.

I don't know if this got posted here or not..

But it looks like EA fucked up the roster editing.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but....

Between games & impressions, I started editing rosters with the hopes of enough people getting the game early to where we could pass the file around and get it done by release or close to it since a significant portion would already be completed.

Well, on day one and after editing a few teams, the game would freeze (and even occassionally bump me back out to the XMB) when attempting to accept changes made to a player. This lost me about three teams of work. Since it did not happen again, I felt it was an isolated incident, though I did forward it on to Will at Tiburon.

Since then, I have been backing up every save on my USB drive as well. This added a lot of time, but was worth it - or so I thought.

However, an hour or two ago the problem resurfaced after not happening since Tuesday evening. I was able to use my save file to keep going only for a few moments. Even on the back-up file on the USB drive now, it freezes the game when attempting to save changes to a player. This means that all work done on editing the file has now been lost. (Technically, I can still play games with the roster file, it just cannot be edited further.)

I am attempting to see if EA Tiburon wants me to send down the file so thay can maybe figure out the issue easier that way.

This is something that was probably impossible to catch in testing. I was able to edit three, and then 20+ teams before it hit.

Until then, I recommend people working on PS3 rosters save in several locations after editing each team - perhaps on two USB drives, alternating on each drive after editing each team - until this issue is resolved.

I am hoping this is a local problem (maybe something on my system doesn't sit well with the roster save) and not widespread, but I am not optimistic after these developments.

If I hear anything, I will post in this thread. Again, I hate to be the bearer of bad news and I am as disappointed as anyone.
Thats from CDJ at NCAA Strategies doing PS3 rosters.. and Fairdale Kings for the 360 had the same problem.

I think what pollutes this whole issue, of course, is the fan aspect. People take these things so personally, when it's really not personal at all. No one here seems to do that, but I see a ton of it on other sites, and it always perplexes me. But then I suppose some confused outsiders could say the same thing regarding our passion for a specific football team. :)

Oh I wasnt taking anything personally. I just manage a gamestop and tend to like the debate on this kind of thing. 90% of it is personal opinion anyway. Still fun to list the highs and lows of each, and debate em. The Wii seems to be a gamecube with motion sensitive controls. The 360 was a HUGE leap from the original XBOX, and the PS3 basically came out ahead of it's time. They will all have their fan base, as goes with anything. I have a 360 and a PS3. Love them both. Although lately, I have barely touched my 360. I just realized this is the wrong thread to debate this on though. I cant wait til Tuesday

Oh I didn't mean you at all. Just commenting on the whole scene when it comes to this issue.

Looks like EA has fucked up majorly.. a list of glitches growing by the minute.

The Offical Bugs/Glitches Thread - MaddenMania

Yeah I just read the thread on NcaaStrategies....the roster editing bug is progressively getting worse. I don't know what the heck EA is going to do. One of the developers was reading through the thread and said he'd let the other guys that worked on the game know about this MAJOR problem. At the earliest, we are looking at a patch in 2-3 weeks (AT THE VERY EARLIEST). If they don't fix this quickly, many, many people are going to be turned off of this game. Such a shame. And WAYYYYYY too many bugs already

Yeah.

I mean, I didn't start using named rosters until 07 and it still isn't a very big deal to me, but I can see why a lot of people would consider that a game killer.

360 Update....PastaPadre has had his roster done for a few days and are all ready to go. Also DT has reported that he has not had any problems with editing the rosters. Could it be the disks?
