2025 NC OL David Sanders Jr. (Tennessee Verbal)

There's not much to say about Frye. He's just not doing his job at a high level. The play of his group on the field has been ok at best the past couple years. In the last 3 recruiting classes, he's signed 3 guys from outside of OH and only 1 of those guys is a real prospect.

Stud didn’t recruit well. I think folks are not remembering that most of the reason for getting rid of Studs was his shit recruiting. Most guys that were brought in under his watch were because of others.

Why the Buckeyes can’t land premier Oline players is beyond me, but disparaging Frye compared to those that came before is ridiculous.

You can't sign a million guy at OL who isn't a day 1 staying left tackle. Didn't a lineman last year say none of them were getting NIL and that comment got him benched for the bowl game? You just can't pay a high schooler more than your starters. It's a bit of a conundrum for tOSU until the NIL market is a little more fleshed out but gambling on high schoolers and ticking off your current guys isn't a good answer.

Believe me, I'm no huge fan of Stud. I'm too lazy to look up his greatest recruiting hits and misses but I would be surprised if they were worse than Frye on the whole. And I'm pretty confident the play of his group on the field was better than Frye's has been.

FYI, Troy Smith is fundraising for NIL money earmarked for OLine. If you want Frye to land Sanders then there is still time to chip in for his salary and his parents' house.

I love the Buckeyes, but it's wild to me that people are willing to chip in to make someone better off than they are. I should've been a con man.

First off guys, recruiting forum...so mind your language. I had to go through and edit several posts. I have the mouth of a sailor but it can't happen in here.

I guess I could try to excuse Sanders' recruitment every which way from NIL, to UT having a relevant program again, they have a pretty good football history as well, etc. But this was a must-get in my eyes after not offering enough OL and we were in good position to actually close. As said above, there is a huge disparity between OL recruiting and every other position, so Frye better kill it on the field this year and in the portal this year or we need to part ways. Sanders legit could be a Day 1 starter and we put in all the effort possible...but after a certain point, effort is not enough.
