I have a never seen a thread with so much bitching and moaning...
HOLY FUCKING SHITTING COWS IN A DAMNED POGO MOTHERFUCKING STICK!
we actually agree on something :p
Yeah the home team gets calls...It is the nature of the beast...It happens in every freakin' sport...
Yeh, it's human nature. The thing is, the refs are human beings, the emotion flooding from the crowd is going to effect their judgment. Shit happens, people are people and all that jazz... The thing with me is this: sure, the difference in free throws was 38 to 10, but the reality is I don't think that if the free throws were even the Lakers would have been able to stage the comeback at the end that will build energy for game 3. Look, if that game is close, the Lakers don't take those chances at the end, nor do the Celtics. Sure the Lakers lost, but they do have something to build on.
Don't understand the Cavs fan in the thread, continuing to say that Celtics suck...Their actions are making your words look like you are a fraud...At some point you have to step back from the keyboard...
No comment, actually, no idea.
For everyone this isn't going to be a sweep, the Lakers are too good, they have good players, the Celtics play great at home, and they played probably some of the best basketball they could play in those first two games...
Well, I am going to say this, it depends on how the Lakers react. Everyone is pointing to Bostons handling of Kobe Bryant, but what it really comes down to IMO, is Kobe's performance in his last finals appearances. He had his worst games in his career against Detroit in 2004, he's not faired well against the Celtics, and he's pushing himself instead of trusting his teammates. If he does this tomorrow, they will lose, and if they lose tomorrow, the Parade planned in Boston for Saturday... well :(
I still think the Celtics win, due to mismatches and still think there is a solid chance this one goes 7...Kinda leaning towards 6 now as I think the Celtics will get one in LA...
I am not going to disagree, but I will say, the Lakers have been a great home team in the playoffs, and the Celtics have struggled on the road. If Odom can show up, and the bench can perform, they can take all three at home, but it will take a "perfect storm."
one more thing, never count out a champion like Kobe until he is dead...Even if he looks like he is on life support...
He needs to play like he did in the regular season, but so far he's only done that for 4 quarters in two games, instead of 8. He goes the first half, passes the ball around, the in the second half loses the "team player" aspect and reverts to his old ways.
Game one, they played a great first half, then in the second half he started trying to get his points, in game 2, same thing, but the first quarter he got into foul trouble and in the fourth it was a valiant effort, but it was too late.
The Lakers need to play the game they played in the last 30 games of the season, getting up the court early, passing the ball around, Kobe driving like he was going for a shot and dishing the ball out. That will work against this Celtics team, Boston is willing to commit 3 players to Kobe if he tries anything, but he needs to trust his teammates, if he doesn't do that, then KG will be spitting on the Logo in Staples center on Thursday.

Edit afterwards:
You know, I've gotten messages and what-not that I am not a real Lakers fan or whatever. And I think it's kind of stupid, I understand there's a lot of Lakers and Celtics fans here and the Celtics fans want to take their shots, and honestly, I don't really care. The thing that frustrates me, is the Lakers fans.
Look guys, I know everyone is looking at this series, but I am looking at three things, the beginning of this season, right now, and next year. This is the L.A. Lakers, not the Miami heat, we don't build for right now, we build for the long run. Here's what I am saying, we are missing a key component. GASOL IS NOT A CENTER, and it shows this series. When we had Bynum we were more physical, more defensive, and it showed, with Gasol we score more points, but he's a forward, he doesn't like to get hit.
Bynum is a product of the Lakers environment, look, Kareem was in the era where you could fight, and it was well known, that if you went there, he would lay you out. When we played Boston the first time, Garnett got into Bynums face and told him he would "fuck him up" and after Andrew backed down, Kareem told him that if he did that again, he was going to get that same reaction either way.
The reason I picked the Celtics isn't about Kobe, or the bench, the coach or anything like that, it's that we are what the Kings were when we beat then in the finals, a "Jelly Donut" we are soft in the center. Offensively, we are great, defensively, we are good, but Boston is the other way around, thier offense is good, the defense is great.
Look, I hope we win this championship, but understand, if we lose, we are missing a major ingredient in our recipe.
