Name, Image, & Likeness (NIL) at tOSU

I love this approach! I said early on to get the guys who fit and once their in, work their NIL game. These kids coming out of High School aren't worth this crazy money when their in the portal next year because lies or no playing time.

This is Ohio State. It is a privilege just to be here so NIL is icing. Dint meant to sound conceited, but it's the truth.

Little Schott trying to make a merger with an NIL collective that is an essentially unknown. The reason for this sudden merger announcement...

OSU wants to work with a group run by adults who don't go on angry tweeting sprees when something doesn't go their way. Day seemed quite frustrated having to even deal with The Foundation due to its narcissistic leader.

NIL is interesting in that these 'Foundations' are not allowed (?) to be tied to a university, but must be stand alone. Soooo, does the recruit negotiate with the Foundation first? or with the university for a scholarship offer? And who does the recruit sue if the Foundation doesn't come through with the promised recompense for his NIL? (See Fla QB now at AZ St). Undoubtedly the two work hand in glove, so how does the Foundation (who have gotta be football lovers, no?) want to pay a 6'5" DT a mil up front, but the university wants them to 'earn' their money with their work on the field? Whose call is it? Hey, if my factoids are in error, please let me know, but I indeed think about junk like this. And finally, who has 'oversight' over the Foundation(s) and what they can and cannot do. I envision a university (Texas, cough, cough) having an alum telling Sarkesian that he needs to offer tailback X a scholarship, because this alum's group just 'knows' he's the missing piece for UT. Believe it's going to get murkier before the water clears up.

I mean, I guess it’s a prize
Dinner with “celebrities”, has never been a thing that would be my cup of tea. But at least try and include current players, and maybe some legends

Fwiw, Cohesion now has the odds on favorite(ok,maybe to me) starter at QB, last years starting QB, both starting WRs, both transfers, a major rotational DE and over half of the 2023 recruiting class. Hopefully this becomes the leading NIL, that’s led by grownups. Though, as long as OSU brings in top talent, The Foundation is good in small doses

It wasn't a prize or anything but through a business deal many moons ago I got to have dinner with Kieth Byers. That was indeed pretty cool. Great dude. I could see NIL's using this kind of thing to make money but it could get a little icky with current players.

Did you ask him for any advice for keeping one’s shoes tied on the field of play?
