Michigan Coaching Speculation

Fine, i think RR is not a good fit for scUM. His system will take at least 3 years to put in place, and they should struggle for those 3 years.

There, back on topic.
Thanks, I was getting really irritated.
I think he's a great fit for scUM. He's an overrated coach, they're an overrated program. They both do the same thing with the game/season on the line. They both smell funny.

On a sad note, how are we going to add L's to a name with no L's in it?

Is this the Pryor thread or the scUM coach thread?
I can't believe you guys are getting off-topic. Ridiculous.

Probably because the Pryor thread was locked to prevent a meltdown, and believe it or not, Pryor's instant addition of Michigan to his list does relate to the Michigan coaching thread because he added Michigan due to the coaching change. Feel free to read other threads if this one bothers you...

Will the Wv fans and players say good riddance ?
From mgoblog;

WV Gazette:
The Rich Rodriguez era at West Virginia ended early Sunday afternoon, not with a bang, but with a whimper. In an early afternoon meeting with his football team, Rodriguez announced he was leaving to become the head coach at Michigan.

Rodriguez walked into a scheduled 1:30 p.m. meeting with his team and emerged 10 minutes later without comment and walked briskly back to his office. Shortly thereafter the players began to file out of the meeting room, somber-faced and generally without comment.

Rodriguez reportedly met with Michigan officials this past Friday in Toledo, Ohio.

Glad to see UM has a coach. Now the Tigers can be 100% focused on the Buckeyes.

UM Release: Rodriguez To Be Introduced Monday as New Head Coach

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Bill Martin, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Michigan, has officially announced that Rich Rodriguez will be named the new head coach for the Wolverine football team.

The 44-year-old Rodriguez will be introduced at a media only-press conference tomorrow (Monday, Dec. 17) at 9 a.m. in the Junge Family Champions Center. Rodriguez and Martin will be available for comments at that time.

All media entities will be required to have their media outlet ID badges for entry into the Junge Family Center adjacent to the Crisler Arena and Michigan Stadium tunnels.

Michigan's press conference scheduled for Monday regarding the Capital One Bowl has been postponed.
But surely this is all just a smokescreen while we're waiting to announce Les Miles.

Bet it's a happy day for the LSU faithful.

No he won't be. Which I don't know why, but whatever. The WVU players feel betrayed worst than the Atlanta Falcons did. Horrible situation at WVU.

It's so he can get a jump on recruiting. If the bowl game were next week, he'd probably do it. It's also awkward sticking around after announcing you're leaving for another college program.

Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth on the BGN boards

Biggest Traitor

Oh, no Even Saint Don Nehlen says TSUN trumps WVU!!
(So Don should leave when RR departs Wild and Wonderful for AA).

How could RR Bail on Pat White?

This very interesting tidbit - maybe a financial advisor was needed?
I've got a Story to Tell When this Over
Re: When this is over, I have a story about the situation.

I was told last week that Rich Rod was going to Mich. I was told this last Wednesday after his agent spent 4 hours on the telephone with the Mich AD. Beginning last weekend, after being contacted by the Mich search committee Rich's agent spent hours of the phone all last week with UM.

It came down to Rich coming up with the money to pay his buy out. He was not offered the job nor did he himself speak to UM until Friday when he went to Ohio to find the money to pay the buy out. The buy out is going to drain him and he had to decide if he was going to roll the dice.

Then when he met with Eddie P after the fact, Rich was told NO MORE MONEY from WVU especially from Mylan who was still pissed off from last years Alabama ordeal among other things. In other words, WVU called his bluff. Rich is going to Mich because in some aspects he back himself into a corner with us.

Things that were reported on here were not factual. He decided last night he was accepting the position. He might have leaked he was staying, but he knew he was gone yesterday.

Three names.......... George Henshaw, Jimbo Fisher and Terry Bowden.
So, from that version RR was not going to get all the buy-out handled by TSUN, or maybe none at all. A $4 Million nut? Big Balls.

All of the details are not out yet, but most of what you are reading on here is true. He told the team this and Dykes said to him, "You are not even going to coach us in the Fuc*ing bowl game either?" and then RR walked out.

He originally agreed to stay and as of the time everyone went to bed last night, this was over. I don't know what happened between then and now, but this one falls more on RR. I now place him in the same category as JB.

Goodbye and good riddance!
Much more in there of course.
