Michigan Coaching Speculation

i think this is a great opportunity for JT and crew to try out their gameplans against a "legitimate" spread option look in the conference schedule, as prep for all those big-mouthed SEC teams that we're sure to meet in BCS games in the coming years.

i don't think there's a lot of downside risk for tOSU in this case. even if he tags along after RR, TP's not going to be able to do much at scUM, other than get baptised-by-fire because he would be the only seasoned spread-option-type player on that squad next year (and perhaps even in '09). unless every other element of RR's coaching staff and the players at scUM pull a miracle, TP's just going to be absolutely pummled in the short-term ('08 and '09) trying to run RR's scheme at scUM.

no more definitive/decisive way for AD Martin to send a message (to whomever!!!) that he wants to make a clear break with the past with this choice. granted, i'm not saying that's a good thing for him to do, but it's a very clear message, imo.

i still can't see Pryor going to scUM. He would have to play there for 4 years while RR tries to get guys in that can run his offense. The scheme they have recruits for couldn't be any less like what they will be running. Also Pryor wants to play hoops and Michigan has chalked up losses to Harvard and CMU already, so that helps.

good point

and It isint the end of the world if Pryor doesnt come to OSU, Plenty of good QBs OSU is targeting in next years class (Devante Payne, Russel Sheppard. Matt Barkley)
